Automation Test Engineer

About the role

IntelliDyne is seeking an Automation Test Engineer to support enterprise software testing for multiple agile development teams operating in an AWS GovCloud environment. This Senior Automation Test Engineer position is part of a test team responsible for feature, functional, performance, security, and deployment testing. Candidates desiring to apply their testing knowledge and skills with Selenium and JMeter to improve software quality will excel in this position. This is an onsite position with a telework option supporting our client at the United States Military Entrance Processing Command (USMEPCOM) in the Great Lakes North Chicago, IL area.

Location: Onsite MEPCOM

Clearance: Must be a US Citizen and suitable to pass and maintain a DoD security clearance

Responsibilities

Essential Functions, Responsibilities and duties may include, but are not limited to:

  • The successful candidate will develop automated testing solutions for application, performance, security, and deployment code baselines.
  • Support product teams' developing custom applications in Ruby on Rails with React front ends, C# and Angular.JS front ends, and Ansible and Terraform CI/CD pipelines.
  • Support the creation, maintenance, and management of test scenarios, plans, test suites, estimation, test artifacts, and test cases within a test management system for manual and/or automated testing.
  • Execute manual or automated testing using documented test cases as determined by the test plan.
  • Maintain a customer service-oriented approach when working with team members, partners, and client stakeholders.
  • Hands-on experience with Selenium, AWS cloud architecture, and using Jira and Confluence tools.
  • Report/track bugs for every release and track them till they are closed.
  • Proactive and strong communicator in both technical and business settings.
  • An expert in software testing practices for web apps
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Mandatory Qualifications include:

  • Must be a US Citizen and suitable to pass and maintain a DoD security clearance
  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or a related IT discipline.
  • 8+ years of experience and at least 5 years as a Tester performing automated scripting using Java and Selenium framework.
  • Candidate should have a working knowledge with an automation framework (e.g., Behavior Driven Development (BDD) or Test NG).
  • Knowledge of incorporating automation reporting tools (e.g., Cucumber).
  • Familiarity with deployment tools like Terraform and exposure working in AWS environments.
  • 2+ years of knowledge working with performance tools (e.g., JMeter).
  • 2+ years of experience on REST API testing with tools (e.g., POSTMAN).
  • Must have knowledge of SQL for validating Database objects.
  • Minimum of 2+ years on an Agile Software Development team deploying bi-weekly Sprints.
  • Candidate must have a Security+ certification or be able to pass the certification exam within three months after starting the position.
  • Candidate should be able to mentor junior candidates on testing and as well automation.
  • Reporting defects in Jira or similar tools and providing risk management to the management team.
  • Provide feedback and develop knowledge base in tools like confluence pages.
