SUMMARY: Manage all shipments through use of a Transportation Management System (TMS). The logistics specialist will be responsible for managing preparation of and routing to delivery. Logistics specialist is responsible for notifying customer service about any delays in the delivery schedule. Staying on top of all deliveries and coordinating with other departments are essential qualities to possess in this fast-paced team environment.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Associate's (A.S.) or Bachelor's degree (B.A.) in Logistics; and one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must be able to handle pressure and get along well with peers. And find creative solutions to situations. Certified purchasing manager or Certified in Production and Inventory management. Helpful but not required. Previous manufacturing experience preferred, but not necessary. Acceptable prior work history
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to communicate clearly to every level of the organization. Ability to effectively assemble and present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
