Job Description
Vaco is working with a top-tier real estate development/construction company in South Philadelphia that is looking for a Senior Accountant. Ideal candidates will have 5 or more years of large corporate General Ledger accounting experience, and any experience in the real estate development/construction industry would be a plus but not required. This role will involve a lot of interaction and communication as you will be one of the point people for technical accounting questions during discussions and meetings with Project Managers, Senior level Executives, Key Stakeholders, and investors and lenders.

This role will have responsibilities related to accounting activities for several legal entities and you will be performing tasks like posting monthly journal entries in Yardi, completing month end account reconciliations including depreciation/amortization in Sage, and assisting with budgeting and cash flow projections. There are several partner developers and many entities that will require extensive reconciliation work in this role. Strong GL skills are vital and any experience with Work in Progress accounting, Loan Draw Down accounting, and AIA billing would be great but not required. Our client is willing to teach some of the industry specific tasks to people with strong corporate GL accounting experience.

Allocating costs to various entities according to agreements will be another big focus of this role along with preparing capital calls to equity partners on development projects and reviewing and submitting construction loan draws to lenders. We are looking for someone with strong general ledger experience who can create accurate journal entries with limited oversight and enjoys participating in variance analysis projects.

Base salary for this role is in the 90k to 120k range depending on experience, background, and how things progress during the interview process. If you are interested in learning more, you can apply, and we will contact you to schedule a conversation so you can learn more about the company and the opportunity.
