WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING (ESSENTIAL DUTIES) ...

The Financial Analyst will play a crucial role in supporting the financial health of our mental and behavioral health center. This role involves analyzing financial data, preparing reports, developing financial models, and assisting in budget preparation. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and an understanding of the unique financial challenges within the healthcare sector, particularly in mental and behavioral health services.

Essential Duties:

1. Financial Analysis and Reporting:

- Analyze financial data and create detailed reports for management.

- Monitor financial performance by comparing and analyzing actual results with plans and forecasts.

- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.

2. Budgeting and Forecasting:

- Assist in the preparation and management of budgets.

- Develop financial models and forecasts to support strategic decision-making.

- Monitor budget adherence and provide variance analysis.

3. Revenue Cycle Management:

- Analyze revenue cycle processes and identify areas for improvement.

- Work closely with billing and coding teams to ensure accurate and timely revenue recognition.

- Track and analyze payer mix and reimbursement rates.

4. Cost Analysis and Management:

- Conduct cost-benefit analysis to support decision-making.

- Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising service quality.

- Track and manage operational expenses.

5. Compliance and Risk Management:

- Ensure compliance with financial regulations and standards specific to healthcare.

- Assist in internal and external audits.

- Identify financial risks and develop mitigation strategies.

6. Stakeholder Collaboration:

- Collaborate with clinical, administrative, and operational teams to gather data and insights.

- Present financial findings and recommendations to senior management and board members.

- Provide financial training and support to non-financial staff as needed.

7. Continuous Improvement:

- Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in healthcare finance.

- Implement process improvements to enhance financial reporting and operational efficiency.

- Leverage technology and software tools to improve financial analysis capabilities.

WHAT WE EXPECT OF YOU...

Bachelor's degree in finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field (master's degree or CPA preferred).

Proven experience as a financial analyst, preferably in a healthcare setting.

Strong proficiency in financial modeling, analysis, and reporting.

Excellent knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations, and healthcare finance.

Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

High level of integrity and confidentiality.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in mental and behavioral health finance.

Familiarity with Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems and healthcare billing software.

Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and private insurance reimbursement processes.

Certification in Healthcare Financial Management (such as HFMA)
