About the Role

The Director of Engagement will play a crucial role in the management and retention of the AAMC's ERAS relationships with specialty societies, residency and fellowship programs, medical schools, and students. You will focus on four key areas: account planning, relationship cultivation, renewal performance, and coordination with product and delivery teams.

How will you make an impact?

Client Retention and Relationship Cultivation

  • Lead client retention and engagement strategy through in-depth portfolio knowledge and comprehensive account planning.

  • Develop strategic, value-driven relationships with client executives and key decision-makers, representing the ERAS Program at meetings, institutions, and events.

  • Deliver compelling presentations, proposals, and pitches to showcase our capabilities and value proposition.

  • Maintain a thorough understanding of ERAS products, ensuring services align with each client's unique needs.

  • Monitor and communicate client feedback and market needs to relevant AAMC teams.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure business development initiatives are supported and aligned.

  • Act as a thought partner to client experts, developing effective strategies for ERAS and AAMC services.

  • Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies.

Team Management

  • Hire and develop a team of 1-2 Account Managers or Specialists.

  • Oversee performance management, providing coaching and navigating difficult conversations.

  • Mentor team members, coordinate cross-functional initiatives, and participate in leadership meetings.

Strategy Execution

  • Assist in executing the ERAS strategic plan in coordination with the leadership team.

  • Lead segmentation and account management activities, staying informed of trends impacting the application cycle and Graduate Medical Education.

  • Provide guidance to the ERAS Product Team on priorities and enhancements.

What you'll bring to the role

  • Strong strategic planning and analytical skills, with the ability to identify opportunities, develop actionable plans, and execute effectively.

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex ideas and build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Proven leadership abilities, with experience leading cross-functional teams and driving results in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

The above annual compensation range and mid-point are general guidelines. For candidates who meet the criteria, the AAMC's compensation philosophy is to target the midpoint of the salary range. Multiple factors are taken into consideration to arrive at the final hourly rate/annual salary to be offered to the selected candidate. Factors include, but are not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the role, the selected candidate's work experience, education and training, as well as internal equity, market, and business considerations.
