What You'll Do:

As the Senior Network Engineer, you will join an innovative NAVAIR program that directly supports our Warfighter. This is a 100% on-site position based at NAS Fallon, NV.


Responsibilities in this senior-level role will include:

  • Implementing operating systems and network device security configuration in accordance with Defense Information Systems
    Agency (DISA) approved Security Technical Implementation Guides
  • Specifying, configuring, and administering boundary devices (i.e., managed switches, proxy servers, routers, firewalls, cryptography, and intrusion detection systems); managing remote switches and routing
  • Performing vulnerability assessments using Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS), Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG), the Security Content Automation Protocol (SCAP) Compliance Checker, incorporating automated Benchmarks
  • Correcting flaws and implementing technical controls in the hardware or software installed within the network environment
  • Managing, architecting, and implementing physical networks to include logical need-to-know separation between data
  • Additional duties may be required
  • Position may require flexibility in working hours

Requirements

Who You Are:

The Senior Network Engineer will have the following education, skills, and experience:

  • Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Information System Management from an ABET accredited institution or IA/CS technology field of study. In lieu of a degree, 9 years of experience as a network technician/engineer on a DISN-connected DoD network is required.

9+ years of demonstrated experience with the following:

  • Implementing operating systems and network devices security configuration in accordance with Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) approved Security Technical Implementation Guides.
  • Specifying, configuring, and administering boundary devices (i.e. managed switches, proxy servers, routers, firewalls, cryptography, and intrusion detection systems); experience in remote switch and router management.
  • Conducting vulnerability assessments using Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS), Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG), the Security Content Automation Protocol (SCAP) Compliance Checker, incorporating automated Benchmarks.
  • Correcting flaws and implementing technical controls in the hardware or software installed within a network environment.
  • Managing DoD Host-Based-Security Systems (HBSS)
  • Managing, architecting, and implementing physical networks to include logical need-to-know separation between data
  • Knowledge of the DoD Information Assurance Vulnerability Management Program (IAVMP)

Certification Requirements:

  • Possess DoD Approved Baseline Certification as Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level II in accordance with DOD 8570.01-M. (e.g., GSEC, Security+CE, SSCP & Vendor certification, and IT Training Provider certificate for network environment main operating system).

In addition to the standard DoD 8570 requirements, current certification in any of the following is also required:

  • Cisco Certified Network Professional - Routing and Switching
  • Cisco Certified Network Professional - Security
  • Cisco Certified Network Professional - Data Center

Security Clearance Requirements:

  • This position requires U.S. citizenship and an active DoD Top Secret clearance. Selected candidate will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
