Job Description

The Senior Associate Director of Athletics - Marketing & Communications will play an integral role in the overall marketing and promotion of Mizzou Athletics and will lead the day-to-day development and operation of the marketing, creative, strategic communications, and broadcasting units ensuring that all groups are coordinated and functioning at a high-level.

This individual will ensure comprehensive, standardized, professional products, advertisements, and engagements are developed promoting the Mizzou brand focused on maximizing non-philanthropic revenue through digital and traditional marketing, fan engagement, public and media relationships.

Specific Job Responsibilities will include:

Revenue Generation (20%):
Utilizing the Marketing, Creative Services, Strategic Communications and Broadcast units to support the revenue generation efforts of the department including the marketing of tickets to athletics department events.

Utilizing the analysis of identified constituencies/audiences and the development of programs, services, and outreach to meet identified needs and influence public perception.

Oversee the creation and facilitation of marketing plans, advertising strategy, media buying, brand management, graphic design, digital & video services, website management, social
media and database marketing to promote fan awareness and drive revenue.

Tracking consumer and market insights by reviewing metrics and conducting consumer research among the various fan groups that attend collegiate athletic events to provide innovative fan experiences that exceed consumer expectations.

Assisting with licensing and merchandising sales programs.

In-Game Marketing Production (20%):
Overseeing all in-game production, including run-of-show and developing a marketing staff capable of providing best-in-class fan entertainment for all Mizzou sports.

Supervising and overseeing all in-game elements and in-game promotions, including providing oversight of the Cheer, Golden Girls, Band, and Mascot programs.

Reinforcing and empowering creative and innovative game day promotions and experiences to grow fan attendance, connect with the community, and create excitement at home athletic events.

Brand Management and Creative Content (20%):
Overseeing creative content creation (video, graphic design, etc.) and campaigns based on consumer and market insights that enhance the University of Missouri Athletics brand.

Utilizing a wide range of creative content and products to enhance the Mizzou brand, tell the Mizzou story, and drive fan engagement.

Broadcast and Strategic Communications (20%)
Providing oversight and budget management of a broadcast team responsible for the production of one hundred plus broadcasts across a variety of networks and platforms.

Leading the University of Missouri broadcast team to produce high-level content for a range of games across multiple platforms.

Maximizing broadcast opportunities to drive revenue for the department.

Overseeing forward-thinking, proactive, service-oriented public and media relations, designed to help tell the story of the Mizzou brand and drive revenue.

Fan and Constituent Engagement (20%):
Providing oversight for external (pregame/non-gameday) events production and activation (Student Tailgate, Fan Days, Tailgate tours, etc.) in coordination with the Mizzou Alumni Association, Mizzou Cheerleaders, Golden Girls, and Band.

Building community affinity via programmatic buildout and execution of non-gameday and off-site community events.

Developing, promoting, and supporting the operational and strategic aspects of Mizzou Athletics, including planning, scheduling, budget administration and travel for associated events.

Leading the marketing and strategic communication staffs to plan and implement a broad range of publications, special events and marketing communications activities that contribute toward a positive image and reputation for the University of Missouri Department of Athletics.

Shift

Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm; Nights, Weekends, and Travel as required.

Minimum Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree in related/ relevant area or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 5 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary

Preferred Qualifications

Prior experience in a high-level NCAA Athletics marketing position

Anticipated Hiring Range

Salary Range: Salary is commensurate with education and experience

Grade: GGS-MKT
