Enterprise Change, Resiliency and Sourcing Office Overview (ECRSO)

The ECRSO for BNY Mellon is a first-line enterprise-wide office that leads the Firm's change management, drives resiliency initiatives and supports a seamless end-to-end delivery process for third-party services.

Enterprise Resiliency Office Overview (ERO)

Resiliency is a strategic priority for BNY Mellon. The Enterprise Resiliency Office or ERO, part of ECRSO, drives the firm's resiliency strategy and initiatives. ERO aligns, centralizes, and integrates our resiliency disciplines and capabilities to deliver timely and effective incident identification, impact assessment, escalation, communication and resolution to promote strong business continuity across our global enterprise. We leverage best practices, lessons learned from our enterprise-wide testing and operational activities, as well as feedback from our clients and partners to continuously improve our resiliency posture.

Role-Specific Responsibilities

  • Support the creation of the strategy / determine the roadmap that contributes to the product's success
  • Understand users of the product; manage and engage stakeholders as needed
  • Conduct analyses, validate business user requirements and assess multiple design approaches to derive as much value as possible from the development work
  • Communicate effectively with team members to achieve project goals
  • Responsible for writing user stories and acceptance criteria in a through and timely manner
  • Prioritize features, stories, fixes appropriately; have a clear understanding of dependencies and urgency
  • Schedule and conduct grooming sessions to communicate business value and obtain estimates from the development team
  • Work closely with the scrum team throughout the development process
  • Test development and provide feedback in a timely manner to ensure the right product is built
  • Manage the backlog of stories related to your area of product
  • Collaborate with other PO team members
  • Work within clear and set deadlines
  • Support rollout of new features including but not limited to new or updated standard operating procedures, communications, release notes, etc.
  • Business Analysis - able to (or quickly learn how to) build repeatable reporting using complex data sets to meet business and regulatory requirements through tools such as Power BI or Tableau
  • Develop an understanding of operational resiliency

Standard Job Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the ongoing, independent oversight of standard business continuity compliance tasks and recovery management governance in preparation for potential crises involving technology and information losses, among other risks.
  • Assist the businesses with the assessment, monitoring and reporting of key indicators on business continuity and recovery preparedness.
  • Work with the team to define and prioritize features that enable businesses to efficiently manage business continuity data
  • Prepare reports for senior management audiences within the businesses or BNYM review and oversight functions.
  • Contribute to cross-functional efforts to promote a strong Business Continuity & Recovery culture throughout the organization.
  • Review work with more senior professionals.
  • No direct reports.
  • Contribute to the achievement of team objectives.
  • Modified based upon local regulations/requirements.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or the equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
  • Seven to ten (7-10) years of total work experience is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of Agile principles and process
  • Successful track record of developing products within deadlines
  • Sharp analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Creative and innovative thinker
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Hyper-organized; strong time-management skills with ability to prioritize work appropriately
  • Strong written, presentation and verbal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in the financial services industry; large global financial services firm strongly preferred
  • Product management / Agile Certification preferred
  • Experience with management information reporting / proficiency in using advanced business intelligence tools
