Pay Range: $95,000 - $126,000

This role leads Product Development and Operational Excellence for the strategic growth of TSI Accessories. This manager will lead a team of 2-3 specialists supporting product innovation, design, sourcing, and supply chain/manufacturing strategies. As part of the broader TSI Accessories growth initiative, the team will be tasked to drive top-line growth and margin improvement.

In addition to product experience with accessory small goods, key success attributes include a thoughtful balance between an entrepreneurial "get it done" mentality and the wisdom to proactively work cross-functionally with adjacent functions to drive sustainable results. This person will challenge status quo by pushing the team and business to think differently, find better solutions, and move faster. As a leader of a new enterprise initiative, this person should be a builder who is comfortable creating a new team and capabilities. As a team leader, this person will direct the team to deliver on plans and coach for professional growth.

As a strategic TSI priority, The position will report into Jill Johnson, VP Tempur-Pedic Brand and have dotted line responsibilities into New Product Development and Sourcing/Supply Chain.

Product Development

  • Leads the execution of product strategy ranging from short-term quick launches to longer-term development tied to an ambitious product road map.
  • Translates winning product concepts and merchandising into prototypes with detailed product specifications.
  • Defines and executes design validation plan ensuring product quality, consistency, and regulatory compliance.
  • Serves as critical core team member representing technical team and supply chain functions.
  • Partners with subject matter experts across textiles, foams, packaging, equipment design to successfully design, validate and scale products.
  • Partners with brand leaders to ensure delivery of customer requirements including cost targets.

Sourcing

  • Leads strategic sourcing for new product projects across Tempur accessories.
  • Conducts supplier selections, make vs buy analysis to recommend supply chain for new products.
  • Manages supplier relationships in partnership with commodity managers.
  • Champions cost out efforts across Tempur accessories assortment in partnership with PPC team.

Supply Chain

  • Collaborates cross functionally to ensure smooth transition from development to commercialization.
  • Is the subject matter expert on components and finished goods.
  • Establishes strong understanding of key customer supply chain requirements related to packaging, labeling, return allowances.
  • Ensures cross-functional accountability for launch delivery.

Innovation

  • Partners with brand to establish pipeline of innovation taking winning concepts to working prototypes.
  • Embrace learn-fast mentality to explore and test new product solutions in identified categories.

Business Development

  • Collaborates with brand to translate consumer and shopper insights into merchandising proposals and product concepts for annual line reviews and new customer pitches.

Qualifications:

  • 4 years of relevant product development experience preferred
  • 3 years of sourcing / supply chain management experience preferred
  • Ability to creatively solve novel problems and overcome persistent obstacles
  • Proven track record of delivering results
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Proven project management experience; excellent meeting organization and facilitation skills.
  • Excellent analytical skills, and the ability to negotiate
  • Proven ability to influence and drive results within a matrix organization
  • Strong consumer focus
  • Exceptional communicator with strong interpersonal skills
  • Experience in furniture or durable categories, preferred
  • Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent industry experience
