Job Summary
The Senior Director of Product Management, Growth is the product leader for Workiva's Growth team. As a key leader on the growth team, this role supports our Innovation to Incubation (I2I) process by driving early ideation, discovery, and incubation to help Workiva enter new markets and develop new solutions.

This role is the product leader for Growth and is responsible for product management of early-stage solutions, working with the Growth team leadership (PMO, Solution Engineering, Solutions Development Consulting, Partners, and Technical Solutions), as well as collaborating with cross-functional aligned departments (R&D, Customer and Partner Experience, Sales, Product Marketing). Contributing to the Growth team's strong commercialization orientation, ability to handle ambiguity and problem-solving, this role requires the ability to learn quickly, test new ideas, and drive disciplined decision-making, as well as the ability to execute, monitor results, and adjust.

The ideal individual will be highly adaptable to change, eager to operate in a fast-paced environment with urgency, and capable of leading in such an environment.


What You'll Do
Product Strategy and Stakeholder Collaboration:

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive product strategy for innovation to incubation

  • Collaborate with large cross-functional teams, including PMO, Solution Engineering, Solutions Development Consulting, Partners and Technical solution teams

  • Stay updated with industry trends, market demands, and customer feedback to identify new opportunities and ensure our product offerings remain competitive and innovative.

  • Drive collaboration and alignment with the R&D, Customer and Partner Experience, Sales, Product Marketing groups within Workiva

  • Define the product roadmap and prioritize initiatives based on business objectives and customer needs

  • Engage with customers, prospects, and industry thought leaders to gain insights, validate product direction, and gather feedback for product improvements

  • Work closely with the product leadership team to align the product roadmap with the overall company vision and objectives


Product Development and Management:

  • Operate as a lead individual contributor or build and lead a high-performing product management team based on scope of solution to incubate while fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous learning

  • Build and Mentor a team of product managers, providing guidance and mentorship, and fostering Workiva's culture as a great place to work

  • Conduct regular product reviews and analyze product performance metrics to measure success and identify areas for improvement

  • Manage the i2i life cycle, taking ownership from ideation through implementation and ensuring product and market fit

What You'll Need
Minimum qualifications:

  • 12+ years related product management experience in software development or a related field

  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent combination of education and experience in a related field


Preferred qualifications:

  • 8+ years direct people management experience preferred, including leading directors and managers in product organization

  • MBA preferred

  • Entrepreneurial experience managing multiple functions of an operation

  • Proven success driving product strategy and product releases in a comparable environment

  • Self-motivated with strong propensity for action, results and continuous improvement

  • The ability to work successfully in a high-energy, fast paced, rapidly changing environment is necessary

  • Expertise in product development from inception to market

  • Ability to handle ambiguity, change and adapt to new priorities, as well as lead others to accomplish new goals as as needed to support the business

  • Demonstrated desire to learn about, explore and understand new business problems, personas and technology landscapes

  • Disciplined in critical thinking and testing new ideas and solutions rapidly and with urgency, as well as understanding longer term implication

Working Conditions & Physical Requirements

  • Up to 30% travel

  • Reliable internet access for any period of time working remotely, not in a Workiva office.

How You'll Be Rewarded

Salary range in the US: $191,000.00 - $325,000.00

A discretionary bonus typically paid annually

Restricted Stock Units granted at time of hire

401(k) match and comprehensive employee benefits package

The salary range represents the low and high end of the salary range for this job in the US. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. The actual salary offer will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience and other relevant factors.
