Responsibilities
    Review prints, procedures, customer specific requirements and regulatory requirements for consistency, applicability and accuracy
  • Investigate, troubleshoot, and respond to customer-reported defects as they relate to manufacturing and related processes
  • Work with Manufacturing to develop Process Flow, PFMEA, Control Plans and PPAP documentation
  • Support, develop, and maintain Work Instructions (WI's)
  • Use Quality Tools: Cause and Effect, SPC, Pareto Charts, etc. to monitor, analyze and improve processes and products
  • Review and perform activities associated with Non-Conforming Materials and Corrective Actions and communicate status to customers
  • Work closely with Production, Research and Development (R&D), Quality and Engineering departments on manufacturing issues and improvement areas
  • Work with development teams as needed to support new and revised equipment, process improvements, new and revised products, and associated documentation
  • Review, lead and / or perform activities to support Continuous Improvement projects and Quality initiatives.
  • Conduct process and product audits to ensure compliance with requirements
  • Develop and maintain appropriate logs, reports and key process indicators
  • Determine root-cause of nonconforming product and technical problems; investigate, identify causes, implement solutions, and verify problem has been resolved
  • Support company and plant safety initiatives and objectives
  • Perform other duties as assigned by direct manager, indirect manager or their designee
Qualifications

  • Bachelors' degree in Engineering or similar technical discipline, with Chemical, Industrial or Polymer Engineering highly preferred.
  • Minimum five (5) years Quality Engineering experience in a manufacturing facility
  • Working knowledge of ISO 9001 or IATF16949 Quality Management System
  • Automotive or industrial manufacturing experience preferred. Must have demonstrated experience in structured, data-driven environment
  • Hands-on self-starter who is able to thrive in a team environment, and is able to continually improve their skills and effectiveness
  • Six-Sigma Yellow, Green or Black Belt certification or equivalent training desired; knowledge of lean manufacturing and 5S/6S techniques a plus
  • Proven ability to drive to root-cause of technical problems and facilitates implementation of the associated corrective actions in a cross-functional team.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office core tools and statistical analysis software (e.g. Minitab)
  • Strong and assertive communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Sound technical judgment and makes data-based arguments and conclusions
  • Action oriented, possess a "hands-on" mentality and is operationally focused
  • Comfortable with ambiguity
