Organizational Unit Overview
The Undergraduate Admissions Office is responsible for identifying, attracting, recruiting, and enrolling students in sufficient numbers to meet the University's enrollment projections while improving the academic profile of the incoming student population. The office annually processes approximately 36,000 applications for admission. These include freshmen, transfer, readmit, visitor, non-degree, pre-college, and auditor students. To generate and process applications from these prospective students, the office is involved in many public relations, marketing, customer service, and other outreach activities to cultivate inquiries for additional information about ECU/application materials. These inquiries are received via mail, phone, email, and third-party search sources and currently exceed well over 100,000 in quantity for one calendar year.
Job Duties
The Regional Admissions Counselor (located in the Mecklenburg County area) is responsible for supporting the recruitment of both freshmen and transfer students to East Carolina University. The Regional Counselor reports directly to the Senior Associate Director for Recruitment & Outreach. This position is responsible for the development and implementation of a strategic recruitment plan and reports information regarding budgetary impact and enrollment funnel data for the designated territory. The Regional Counselor presents information sessions on behalf of East Carolina University to schools, college fairs, and other special events. In addition, this position counsels prospective students and their families on the educational opportunities at ECU, admission criteria, scholarship programs, and student services within the university. This position assists in the development and maintenance of the office's communication plan for prospective and admitted students. This position evaluates applications and participates in recruitment activities. Regional Admission Counselors participate in regular professional development and training initiatives related to Target X and Banner. Last, the Regional Admission Counselor represents the Office of Undergraduate Admissions at University meetings and committees where appropriate. Other duties as assigned.

* Collaborate with school counselors/advisors for student events
* Maintain student contact/communication throughout the entire admissions cycle
* Utilize both virtual and in-person recruitment strategies.

Recruitment Team Support
* Serve on-call/email to support prospective students
* Represent University at events or presentations
* Personal Projects as assigned by supervisor
* Complete other duties as assigned

Continuous Training and Learning
* Attend office training for CRM, Banner, etc.
* Support new staff trainings
* Professional development opportunities

*This position is contingent upon available funding.

Minimum Education/Experience
Bachelor's degree. Good communication and interpersonal skills are imperative for this position.
License or Certification Required by Statute or Regulation
Position requires a valid driver's license or the ability to obtain one within 60 days of the date of hire and driver's license must be maintained as a condition of employment.
Preferred Experience, Skills, Training/Education
Knowledge of ECU, catalogs from other institutions, departmental brochures and handbooks, the transfer course equivalencies, and various directories and educational guides.
