Job Description

The Peabody Essex Museum Shop is searching for a full time, 35 hours a week, Assistant Manager to be responsible for the day to day oversight of the sales floors in the museum and off site shops. This individual must be highly organized, have excellent attention to detail and be able to forge mutually respectful and effective relationships with the team.

Daily tasks include, but are not limited to, stock replenishment, cash reconciliation, merchandise maintenance, team training, POS troubleshooting and sales and customer service. The Museum Shop Assistant Manager will also supervise Sales Associates in the absence of the Museum Shop Manager and assist in creating monthly schedules.

Experience in or curiosity about art, museums, and culture is essential. High School Diploma and 3-5 years retail management, retail buying, or retail supervisory experience required. Knowledge and experience with POS systems and technical proficiency in using database software and reporting systems preferred. This is a full-time position with at least one weekend day required.
