Job Description

Tintri is a wholly owned subsidiary of DDN, the data-at-scale powerhouse and world's largest privately held storage company. We have created solutions that combine autonomous operations with real-time insight and AI-driven analytics, enabling IT organizations to reduce storage management overhead by 95%. We are looking for a File System Engineer for our US-based Tintri Storage team. The ideal candidate will have experience designing, implementing File Systems, and Distributed File System in a Linux environment, using C, C++, Shell scripting, and python.

Responsibilities for this role include but are not limited to:

    C++ and multi-threaded programming experience is required
  • Design and develop experience with on-disk file system and like, NFS v3 and v4, pNFS, CIFS, SMB, or other NAS based File System is strongly desired
  • In depth knowledge of hypervisors like VMWare, Hyper-V, RHEV, OpenStack, Xen, KVM and its integration with storage system is strongly desired
  • Good understanding of Linux internals is required
  • Experience with SAN based protocols like FC, iSCSI would be added advantage

Qualifications:

  • BS/MS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent degree/experience.
  • Eight to ten years of experience in systems development
  • Attention to detail and commitment to high quality/error free deliverables.
  • Experience with engineering development tools is required
  • Experience developing appliances and/or software for enterprise customers is preferred
  • Strong team player with good communication skills and should be self-starter
  • Excellent time management skills, with the ability to independently prioritize, multitask, and work under deadlines in a fast paced environment

Interview Process:

After submitting your application, the team reviews your CV and statement of exceptional work. If your application passes this stage, you will be invited to a 30-minute interview ("phone interview") during which a member of our team will ask some basic questions. If you clear the initial phone interview, you will enter the main process, which consists of four technical interviews:

  • Coding assessment in a language of your choice.
  • Systems design: Translate high-level requirements into a scalable, fault-tolerant service.
  • Systems hands-on: Demonstrate practical skills in a live problem-solving session.
  • Project deep-dive: Present your past exceptional work to a small audience.
  • Meet and greet with the wider team.
  • Our goal is to finish the main process within one week.
  • We don't rely on recruiters for assessments.
  • Every application is reviewed by a member of our technical team.
