PennDOT District 3 is looking for a skilled individual to take on the role of Civil Engineer Manager in the traffic engineering department. In this position, you will plan, organize, and direct all activities of the district's traffic engineering functions. As district traffic engineer, you will oversee district traffic control programs to include work zone traffic control, intelligent transportation systems (ITS), traffic lighting and signals, incident and congestion management, pavement markings, signing, and line painting. You will develop strategies to reduce traffic congestion, promote ITS, increase the number and use of safety enhancements and highway safety improvement projects, and reduce accidents, especially in the work zones. In addition, you will also direct and review studies and investigations pertaining to traffic signals, signing, speed limits, traffic line markings, accidents, permits, and traffic control work areas.
