The Department of Transportation is currently looking for an Engineering Technician to join their team. In this role, you will be responsible for working with a survey team to utilize both manual and electronic equipment for a variety of surveys including preliminary, right-of-way, engineering, bridge, construction, land, and property surveys. As part of this role, you will be responsible for carrying out your tasks with minimal supervision. This includes making decisions regarding the placement and recording of controlling points and topography points in the field. However, if you come across more complex or unusual issues, you will refer them to your technical supervisor. You will not only review your work for completeness, accuracy, and adherence to established technical and performance standards but also provide guidance and support when needed.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

• Full-time employment
• Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch.
• Schedules vary due to weather conditions and field conditions, and requires working in inclement conditions.
• Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Allentown.

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

• An associate degree in surveying, drafting, designing, civil, or any other appropriate field of engineering technology.
• Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within 6 months of graduating with a qualifying degree.

• This particular position requires possession of a valid Class C Driver's License.
