Groundman (General Maintenance Worker)
Location: Aberdeen Proving Ground, Maryland
City Light & Power (CLP) is looking for a Groundman (General Maintenance Worker)/Inventory Lead to join our crew at Aberdeen Proving Ground, Maryland. CLP has built a reputation as an innovative, reliable and responsive private Utility Developer. CLP guarantees 40 hours of work every week and requires personnel to be on call (rotation based).
Groundman/Inventory Lead works under the supervision of Crew Supervisor and Electrical Maintenance Workers and assists with the operation of jackhammers, man hauls, and loading and unloading of materials and equipment.
- May use hand-mechanized tools to assist tower and pole assembly.
- Assist the crew with the framing and erecting of poles, making, installing, and pulling guys and assembling and erecting fixtures.
- May operate pick-up trucks and light flatbed trucks, trucks used to service trucks and equipment on distribution and transmission lines.
- Will be required to respond to emergency callouts to restore electrical service as needed, which may involve working in different adverse weather conditions to restore service.
- May drive bucket trucks, line trucks, and light trucks on the job and operate additional equipment if qualified to do so.
- Responsible for tracking and maintaining inventory, tools and equipment on site. Must be proficient with Microsoft Office products.

Compensation: $29.78/hour
Work Authorization/Union Requirements/Security Clearance:
- You must be a US Citizen.
- Become signatory to local union IBEW 24 and pay IBEW 24's required dues.
- Be able to obtain Military Base Access Security Clearance
- You must have a valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL-A)
