Job Summary

This position is responsible for supporting the manufacturing teams, customers, suppliers, and functional groups by providing process engineering support, data analysis, and optimization for all the teams in the organization. The Technical Services Engineer will make recommendations for process improvements across business boundaries and must be able to communicate at all levels of the organization.

Essential Functions

* Be well-versed in troubleshooting methodologies

* With minimal guidance, identify recurring technical issues from customer or manufacturing origins

* Gather and accurately analyze relevant data across functional boundaries

* Accurately scope projects and determine business impact, both in terms of work burden and outcomes

* Conduct high level or in depth root cause analysis as required

* Identify and coordinate implementation of identified solutions

* Measure solution effectiveness and provide follow-up to relevant stakeholders

* Occasionally travel to off-site locations in order to provide first hand assessment of identified issues or solution follow-up

* Work independently or collaboratively with a team among changing demands

* Ability to provide and communicate direction through relationships, not authority

* Serve as a subject matter expert across functional boundaries

* Learn and work with emerging technologies relative to manufacturing processes and finished goods utilization

* Interact and routinely communicate with customers, suppliers, plant leadership, business leadership, and executives as required

* Be able to serve in a teaching or training capacity as required

* All other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree required in Manufacturing or Chemical Engineering or related discipline.
  • At least 3 years' of direct, relevant experience.

  • Technical aptitude.
  • Self-motivated, team player.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment and bring projects to completion in a timely manner.
  • Must have competent PC computer skills, e.g. Excel, MS Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Must be able to effectively communicate and present information in meetings.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regulary required to stand; use hands to finger, handle or fee; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is required to talk and hear. The employee is frequently required to walk. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl. The employee is occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 50 lbs. Specific vision abilities may require close vision, color vision, depth perception, and ablity to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechnical parts, toxic or caustic chemicals, and fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment ranges from normal office noises to loud.
