JOB TITLE: Proposal and Report Writer

JOB PURPOSE:

Write, edit, and prepare materials for proposals or publications on behalf of the University of Wyoming Foundation, with a focus on donor reporting and related donor communications.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Collaborate with team members to write, rewrite, and edit content for publications-enhancing purpose, clarity, consistency, and readability.
  • Gather donor content from diverse sources, including university partners, internal UW Foundation colleagues, and donors.
  • Help coordinate the annual endowment report project and collect and edit impact statements from university partners and internal UW Foundation colleagues.
  • Assist with the stewardship reporting process including the annual schedule, gathering information from campus partners, editing content, and in some cases writing content.
  • Assist with the annual review process for student scholarship letters.
  • Work closely with other departments within the UW Foundation to assist and coordinate stewardship writing efforts.
  • Strategize publication content, including thematic approach, target audience, distribution methods, and research-aligned with style guidelines, editorial principles, and organizational goals.
  • Conduct interviews and participate in meetings to gather details and research content.
  • Edit the work of others, pinpointing grammatical or style inconsistencies and factual inaccuracies and providing constructive feedback to enhance overall quality.
  • Verify information for accuracy, including quotes, facts, dates, and statistics by using diverse reference sources.
  • Edit final proofs to identify and correct errors.
  • Support other team members in the production of digital and online content.
  • Complete additional writing and editing projects as assigned.

SUPPLEMENTAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Develop budget recommendations and monitor expenditures.
  • May prepare cost estimates.

REMOTE WORK ELIGIBILITY:

This position provides vital support to campus customers and requires the successful candidate be available to work on campus.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: Bachelor's degree

Experience: 2 years work-related experience

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience with writing, evaluating, and editing practices, techniques, and methods
  • Experience with interviewing methods and techniques.
  • Experience with digital marketing practices and techniques.
  • Experience with personal computer and applicable software/hardware application programs.
