Responsibilities

Peraton is seeking an Employee Relations and ADA Specialist to join our Employee Relations team. The Specialist will be responsible for, but not limited to the following:

    Assist larger ER team in resolving employee complaints, including interviewing and report writing.
  • Conduct interactive dialogues with employees as needed to understand accommodation requests and determine if reasonable accommodations may exist
  • Provide support and guidance to HR Business Partners, managers and employees in all matters related to accommodations
  • Maintain a record of the interactive accommodation process (i.e., notes, communication, memos, etc.) ensuring confidentiality of sensitive employee information
  • Ensure a well-documented process by maintaining accurate and thorough records and notes of the accommodation and/or investigation processes
  • Recommend resolution of employee relations and/or performance management/disciplinary matters, including terminations,
  • Escalate within HR and Legal teams more complex matters of investigations and accommodations
  • Support the larger HR business partner team by drafting and reviewing disciplinary documents and communicating expectations to management for document delivery
  • Partner with other functions such as Benefits, IT, etc on more complex accommodation matters
  • Assist with developing and maintaining materials regarding the ADA, Employee Relations, and Disciplinary Process
Qualifications
  • 5+ years of progressive HR experience
  • Bachelor's degree in HR, Business or related field
  • Additional work experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate confidential and difficult/sensitive information;
  • Experience administering reasonable accommodations on the basis of disability, pregnancy and/or religion;
  • Ability to handle sensitive and highly personal information on a daily basis and maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to act independently, take initiative, and exercise sound judgment;
  • Ability to handle stressful situations and remain neutral in employee relations matters.
  • Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with individuals at all levels within the organization.
  • Effective project management, organization and analytical skills;
  • Exercise sound judgment and make decisions in a fair and consistent manner.

Prefer:

  • Someone with government contracting experience
  • Several years' experience leading investigations into potential company policy violations
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the Americans with Disabilities Act, Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act, the Pregnant Workers Fairness Act, Title VII of the Civil Rights Act as relates to religious accommodations, and relevant state laws;

Target Salary Range
$86,000 - $138,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
