Summary of Primary Function: To perform welding duties not requiring a certified welder and any maintenance duties as necessary.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

All employees are required to follow all Safety and Quality rules and processes to ensure a safe working environment, and the production of high quality products.

  • Received instructions from supervisor and obtain equipment and materials necessary for welding.
  • Repair or make form modifications requiring weld work on prestress and precast forms.
  • Perform maintenance and repair work requiring weld work in yard areas.
  • Weld cages, etc. and assist welder in the fabrication of haunches, base plates, etc.
  • Perform post pour welding as required, such as shipping bars, haunch after pours, etc.
  • Assist production in changeovers that require weld work.
  • Assist with mechanics duties and/or steel shop duties when available.
  • Fabricate miscellaneous forms as required by production.
  • Clean work area daily.
  • Perform miscellaneous duties as directed by Supervisor.

Education and/or Experience: High School Diploma or general education degree (GED) with 1-3 years of experience and/or training or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Required Certifications: Must become Tindall Certified in SMAW 3F & 4F.

Working Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to outside weather conditions and must be able to perform in hot & cold temperatures. Regularly exposed to extreme heights, frequently exposed to moving equipment and loads. Employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and vibration and exposed to a noise level that is intermittently loud.
