We are currently looking for talented General Machinists level II (1st Shift: 7:00 AM- 3:30 PM & Second shift: 3:30 PM- 12:00 AM) for our Jacksonville, FL Division.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Works under the general direction of the Production Supervisor and daily direction of a Cell Leader with limited supervision. We are hiring for first (1st) and Second Shift.

Duties include, but are not limited to, the follow:

    Sets up and operates conventional, special-purpose and numerical control machines and machining centers such as mills, lathes, jig borers, precision grinders, and shapers, to make metal parts to exacting tolerances and dimensions. Interprets blueprints, sketches and specifications.
  • Solves problems relative to work-holding arrangement, unusual materials, machine setting, tools, product specifications and fabrication methods for production process.
  • Determines sequence of operations, number of cuts required, and method of setup.
  • Selects, mounts, and aligns various specialized machine attachments and standard or improvised tooling.
  • Plans sequence of operations, number of cuts required, and method of setup.
  • Measures, marks and scribes dimensions and reference points on material or work piece as guides.
  • Calculates and sets controls to regulate machining factors, such as speed, feed, coolant flow, and depth/angle of cut, or enters commands to retrieve, input, or edit computerized machine control media.
  • Uses a variety of machinist's hand tools and precision measuring instruments.
  • May monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures.
  • Follows all safety regulations and exercises care in handling parts and operating machinery.
  • Participates in cell or fabrication projects and assist with process improvements, methods, solutions and procedures to enhance program quality, cost and scheduling.
Qualifications

Education:

High School Diploma or GED required.

Experience:

At least 1 year of related experience required

Use of elementary geometry, algebra and trigonometric principles together with the use of complicated drawings, specifications, charts, tables

Use of various types of precision measuring instruments

The ability to make minor modifications to NC/CNC equipment programs

Computer skills to input data.

Interpretation of data and measuring devices requiring advanced skills knowledge
