Here's how aSenior Buyerfor our Civil Infrastructureoffice contributes to our team:

Interacting with suppliers and company personnel

Determining best cost and availability of materials and equipment

Creating and issuing Purchase Orders, and entering PO details

Supportingestimating as the lead with price support for materials and services, leading preparation of supplemental estimates (temporary power / cranes / heat / equipment spread) and participating in estimating meetings and bid closing.

Administers formal bid process (e.g., Requests for Quote (RFQ), technical and commercial review, bid conditioning, award); negotiates procurement details with suppliers, including contract terms and conditions and administration of the agreement throughout their term.

Writing equipment and tool transfers

Managing equipment and tool inventory

Other duties as assigned
- 4-6 years of progressiveexperience as a Buyer or other related purchasing experience
- Postsecondary diploma/degree in a related discipline an asset (e.g., business, supply chain management, logistics, warehouse distribution).
- Advanced construction knowledge; understands specifications, methods, and procedures. Involved in strategy, planning, and training/mentoring others.
- Strong computer literacy; experience with relevant tools and technology (software and hardware); ability to train others on program and help develop new tools.
- Ability to prioritize and manage tasks with minimal direct supervision
- Strong negotiating skills and awareness of impact on company and projects. Able to mentor and train others on different techniques
- Customer Service oriented approach to field personnel
