Here's how aSenior Buyerfor our Civil Infrastructureoffice contributes to our team:

Responsibilities
  • Interacting with suppliers and company personnel

  • Determining best cost and availability of materials and equipment

  • Creating and issuing Purchase Orders, and entering PO details

  • Supportingestimating as the lead with price support for materials and services, leading preparation of supplemental estimates (temporary power / cranes / heat / equipment spread) and participating in estimating meetings and bid closing.

  • Administers formal bid process (e.g., Requests for Quote (RFQ), technical and commercial review, bid conditioning, award); negotiates procurement details with suppliers, including contract terms and conditions and administration of the agreement throughout their term.

  • Writing equipment and tool transfers

  • Managing equipment and tool inventory

  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications
  • 4-6 years of progressiveexperience as a Buyer or other related purchasing experience
  • Postsecondary diploma/degree in a related discipline an asset (e.g., business, supply chain management, logistics, warehouse distribution).
  • Advanced construction knowledge; understands specifications, methods, and procedures. Involved in strategy, planning, and training/mentoring others.
  • Strong computer literacy; experience with relevant tools and technology (software and hardware); ability to train others on program and help develop new tools.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage tasks with minimal direct supervision
  • Strong negotiating skills and awareness of impact on company and projects. Able to mentor and train others on different techniques
  • Customer Service oriented approach to field personnel
