Job Description

The University of Missouri Department of Athletics is seeking an Assistant Athletics Director for Marketing. By leading and developing the marketing department, this individual will play a crucial role in developing and executing marketing strategies to promote the Mizzou athletics program, enhance fan engagement, and increase revenue generation opportunities, while also exploring innovative ways to expand our reach and impact in the community and beyond. This position will report to the Senior Associate Director of Athletics for Marketing & Communications and will work closely and collaboratively with Mizzou's creative, strategic communications and broadcasting units.

Specific Responsibilities will include:

1. Marketing Strategy Development:

Develop comprehensive marketing strategies aligned with the athletics department's goals and objectives, including non-philanthropic revenue generation.

Conduct market research and analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and target audiences.

Create integrated marketing campaigns that drive ticket sales, boost attendance at games, and increase fan engagement.

Coordinate promotional activities for home games, special events, and tournaments.

Create run-of-show scripts.

2. Fan Experience Enhancement and Student Engagement:

Collaborate with game operations and facilities teams to enhance the overall fan experience at events.

Implement initiatives to improve customer service and satisfaction among attendees.

Work closely with the ticket sales department to create ticket sales strategies and campaigns to increase attendance and revenue.

Implement creative marketing ideas to drive student attendance at events.

Lead student all-sport pass sales program.

3. Analytics, Reporting and Brand Management:

Monitor and analyze marketing performance metrics and KPIs to assess campaign effectiveness.

Provide regular reports and recommendations based on data insights to optimize future marketing efforts.

Manage and enhance the athletics department's brand identity and ensure consistent messaging across all platforms.

Oversee the creation of promotional materials, including digital content, print ads, signage, and merchandise (as applicable).

4. Cheer, Golden Girls, and Mascots

Coordinate, and provide leadership to the cheer, golden girls, and mascots, including organizing their appearances at internal and external events.

Shift

Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm; Nights, Weekends, and Travel as required

Minimum Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree in related/ relevant area or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 3 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary

Preferred Qualifications

Prior experience in a NCAA Athletics.

Anticipated Hiring Range

Salary Range: Salary is commensurate with education and experience

Grade: GGS-MKT
