Overview

The Applications Developer is considered the technology subject matter expert responsible for the analysis, design, engineering, development and implementation of software projects within the ServiceNow enterprise application suite. This role is responsible for the development of core functionality, existing ITSM applications, creation of new applications and understanding the various system integration needs. This is achieved by collaborating with key stakeholder teams to analyze and understand requirements, then transforming the requirements into a valid solution. The ideal candidate will provide technical leadership and training, perform peer code reviews and ensure the vendor and application team follows development best practices.

Note: Incumbent must live within driving distance to Children's Mercy Hospital in Kansas City, MO.

Responsibilities

Design, Development and Implementation:

    Participate in platform maturity initiatives as a contributor or leader in the areas of integrations, development, and implementation
  • Engage directly with owners/members of applications and modules to gather requirements and design solutions
  • Produce design documents
  • Perform system and integration testing
  • Participate in Continual Service Improvement deliveries
  • Develop and implement dashboards to identify trends and service improvement opportunities
  • Implement, per requirements, request and incident forms including request items, task templates, configuration items and self-service templates using Workflows, Service Level Agreements and managing data flows to help route information from the end-user to assist the teams providing the service
  • Participate in the management of the ServiceNow instance including the overall security of the platform, configuring Service Level
  • Agreements, developing workflows, business rules, UI page, UI actions, UI policies, ACLSs, catalog items, scripts and updates of all other existing solutions requiring revisions

Operational Management:

  • Provide advanced support and guidance to ITSM Practice Analyst(s) and ServiceNow Admin(s)
  • Prepare for and participate in control reviews and internal/external audit engagements
  • Respond to user issues and questions
  • Apply data health skills across the platform
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Strategy and Planning:

  • Research and integrate design strategies, product specifications, development schedules and user expectations into product capabilities
  • Work with IS Leadership to develop and evolve the current ServiceNow application environment to meet the needs of the organization
  • Participate in process development with process owners and stakeholders

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree and 3-5 years' experience, plus the following OR
  • High School diploma, or equivalent, and 7 or more years' experience, plus the following:
    • ServiceNow System Administrator Certification preferred at hire. Required within 180 Days
    • Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) v3 or v4 Foundation preferred
    • ServiceNow Certified Application Developer or equivalent preferred

Remote Work/Work from Home

This position is entirely remote or work-from-home. The person hired must live in the Kansas City metro area and may attend on-site meetings, as scheduled.
