The Position

Job TitleDeposit Operations Specialist I - Items Processing

Job Description

SUMMARY

This position is responsible for completing assigned job duties daily and provide assistance as needed within Exception Item Processing (EIP) and Item Processing (IP). Employees are expected to take the initiative to ensure customer service is a priority when completing the required functions.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS)

  • Process Garnishments/Levies/Freezes/Subpoenas received.
  • Complete adjustment requests received.
  • Enters data into the Item Processing software program, captures and balances work received from branches daily.
  • Balances run information by locating teller and data entry errors.
  • Repairs rejected items and balances transactions through the Image system.
  • Processes other miscellaneous transactions.
  • Assists Branches with Branch Capture, machine or processing problems.
  • ATM Deposit Processing
  • Remote Deposit Capture File Processing
  • Performs various tasks using Web Research to view images and print reports.

ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for learning all job duties in EIP and IP.
  • Performs other duties as requested by the supervisor.
  • Work DDA and savings account unposted items.
  • Review stop payment suspect list and work items appropriately.
  • Work and balance incoming Fed Returns.
  • Work and balance NSF items.
  • Completes Salesforce case requirements.
  • Answers phones and assists internal or external customers.
  • Use resources available to troubleshoot issues as they arise.
  • Completes all required compliance tests yearly.
  • Adherence to all First United Policies and Procedures.

Education and Work Experience

  • High School diploma or GED Required.
  • Previous banking experience preferred.

Technical/Functional Competencies

  • Good problem-solving skills.
  • Dependable and available to work a flexible schedule during the periods of 10:30 am to 7:30 pm
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and work well under pressure.
  • Takes initiative in development and completion of projects.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
