The Maintenance Manager manages and assists in the completion of the day-to-day activities involving the maintenance of the production equipment, ovens, incinerators and machinery used in coating steel coils. This includes process equipment, HVAC, building lighting systems, security and overall facility appearance. The position supervises and coordinates the work of employees who repair and maintain building/facility, equipment and machinery.
The Maintenance Manager couples technical expertise with plant systems knowledge to provide overall leadership and direction for plant maintenance team focusing on equipment reliability and uptime, facilities/utilities maintenance, and systems support to production. This position will help develop technical expertise and talent and ensure the most effective use of resources on all three shifts.
Primary Responsibilities:
Leads by example, to instill and enforce a world class safety and housekeeping culture.
Provides Predictive, Preventive and Reactive maintenance support for the production team and equipment, including building and facility maintenance.
Coaches, develops and manages productivity and performance of mechanics and electricians on all three shifts.
Maintains a predictive and preventative maintenance program for applicable equipment and machinery.
Maintains appropriate levels of maintenance spare parts under inventory control
Arranges for, and manages appropriate third-party contractor support as needed.
Prepares budgets and secures estimates and cost quotes as needed.
Drives root cause identification and analysis for maintenance-related failures and identify opportunities to improve
Instill discipline and accountability in administration and execution of site and departmental policies/procedures.
Responsible for providing technical support and leadership of plant safety and environmental programs
Responsible as an on-call contact for high priority issues and emergencies
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering - Electrical/Controls Engineering preferred
Minimum 5+ years of manufacturing facilities / equipment related experience and must have proven ability to combine theoretical training with practical experience in a 'hands-on' environment.
Minimum of 2+ years in a supervisor/leadership position
Writing and troubleshooting PLC/HMI software. (RS Logix 5, RSLogix 500, RSLogix 5000, RSView Studio, Panelbuilder 32, RS Networks)
Familiar with AutoCAD
Programming and interfacing of VFD's (A-B, ABB, Yaskawa, Parker) with other peripheral devices.
Experienced in industrial hydraulic and pneumatic principles and their use on mechanical systems
Experience in industrial electrical circuitry including PLC hardware
Experience in writing and interpreting PLC ladder logic, sequences of operation, start-up instructions and Panelview programs
Experience with AC & DC motor drives, PLC's, HMI's, I/O hardware, MCCs, industrial control networks preferred
Experience with Environmental, Health and Safety practices and procedures
Familiar with IT infrastructure and TPM principles
Knowledge of industry codes and standards, specifically NFPA
Ability to work individually and as part of a team
Strong analytical, problem solving, troubleshooting and time-management skills
Excellent organizational, interpersonal and decision making skills
Ability to interpret drawings, technical manuals, specifications and regulations
Excellent verbal, written, and mathematical skills required.
Must be detail-oriented, with strong organizational skills in order to manage a continuous workflow
Ability to work with sufficient speed, accuracy, and attention to detail to perform job functions as required.
Proficient in MS Office products
Must be legally eligible to work in the United States without employer sponsorship
