Job Description

KARL STORZ United States is currently recruiting for a Data Center Administrator / Systems Administrator who will be responsible for ensuring data center systems are running efficiently, patched and updated, and tuned to the highest level of performance. The Data Center Administrator will work with closely with and take direction from Sr. Admins and Lead Admins to ensure best practices are being used to maximize data center uptime; data center and system redundancy; backup and recovery.

This position will be based in our Charlton, MA office and work a hybrid schedule.

Responsibilities

  • Perform system analysis and reporting of multiple systems within the datacenter
  • Create proper documentation of current and new solutions to ensure repeatable Run operations
  • Remain abreast of industry standards and best practices for infrastructure technologies, physical data center components, as well as virtual data center components
  • Assist with all Disaster Recovery System tests

Required

  • Minimum 3 years of technical experience in data center, systems, and operations, preferably in a large, fast-paced business environment.
  • Degree in Computer Science or related work experience, industry relevant certifications
  • Proficiency with the following technologies:
    • Microsoft Services: Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, Microsoft Server.
    • VMware Services: vSphere, ESXi, Vmware Networking and Storage.
    • Storage technologies from: NAS, SAN and vSAN
    • Data center infrastructure components - UPSes, Cooling Systems, Environmental monitoring
  • Understanding of Networking concepts in a Data Center environment
  • Familiar with ITIL process framework and previous experience using ITSM tools
  • Team player, self-motivated, collaborative
  • Ability to lift up to 20kg, agility to work on ladders, agility to bend and stretch as needed

Preferences

  • Greater than 5 years of related work experience required, preferably in a large fast-paced business environment
  • Project management experience running infrastructure projects
