POSITION SUMMARY
As a staff trainer you will report to the training manager. This candidate will focus on leading educational clinics for our instructors and coaching staff. Majority of clinics will be conducted on snow, and cover information focused towards creating exceptional experiences skiing and snowboarding for our guests. Stratton Mountain Sports School primarily utilizes PSIA-AASI for education materials and certification.
The ideal candidate will help our staff improve their teaching methods and skiing/riding abilities. This candidate will also foster growing interests and participation in clinics while helping staff prepare for certification. This position will also teach lessons, oversee lessons, and have instructors shadow you while teaching lessons as needed. Seasonal full-time and part-time positions available. The pay range for this role is $28.00 - $31.00/hr.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Lead training clinics for instructors
Cover topics outlined by the training manager
Create and facilitate clinics with open guidelines based on the needs of the group
Help create training plans for short-term and long-term staff goals
Assess instructors' ability levels and provide feedback
Facilitate safe learning environments for students and clinic participants
Provide engaging learning that promotes clinic participation
Ability to teach a variety of lessons
Assist in preparation of learning areas
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Certifications: Level 3 or Ed Staff PSIA/ AASI or equivalent
Education: High School diploma or equivalent, preferred but not required
Experience: High intermediate or advanced skiing/riding skills, previous teaching experiences a plus
QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY REQUIREMENTS
Must be at least 18 years of age
Experience leading clinics
5 Seasons teaching experience (recommended)
Level 3 or Ed Staff PSIA/ AASI or equivalent
Advanced skiing/snowboarding skills
Superior customer service skills
Outgoing, with excellent communication skills
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS
This position requires working weekends and holidays.
