The United States Holocaust Memorial Museum is a federally chartered, nonpartisan institution that was created by the US Congress to serve as America's national memorial to the victims of the Holocaust and an educational institution dedicated to the history and lessons of the Holocaust. The Museum seeks to educate Americans from all 50 states and all walks of life as well as international audiences. Information about the role

The Museum is going through transformational change as an institution and Human Resources is an essential partner in identifying, developing and implementing new strategies, policies and processes to support strategic plans and our people, the foundation of our work and future success.

In alignment with these needs, the Talent Acquisition Partner is responsible for the recruitment and pre-screening of candidates for donated fund staff positions, management of the end-to-end hiring process, development and facilitation of the associated recruiting plans and strategies, and initiation of the onboarding process. The Talent Acquisition Partner will operate with a high degree of independence applying their senior level recruiting and sourcing expertise and will be provided with the tools required for sourcing, strategic ad posting (with pre-approval), screening, interviewing and facilitating the offer and hire process.

This is a full-time donated position (non-Federal) paid with the Museum's private funds. Salary is commensurate with experience.

The United States Holocaust Memorial Museum will provide remote employees equipment based on organization policy, and each employee's individual role and responsibilities.

Duties, and Responsibilities for the role

Reporting to the Talent Acquisition and Onboarding Manager, the Talent Acquisition Partner provides strategic sourcing and recruiting services, responsible for full lifecycle recruiting for multiple disciplines within the organization. Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Support the development and refinement of recruiting processes and strategies.
    • Work with the Talent Acquisition & Onboarding Manager to develop recruitment strategies, plans and hiring metrics to fill a full pipeline of open positions in an organized and expeditious manner.
    • Develop and execute effective and efficient recruitment and sourcing strategies, identify a qualified and diverse candidate pool for each assigned position from which a hiring decision can be made in an expedient and compliant manner.
    • Source, network and actively build relationships to ensure an adequate pipeline of candidates to effectively meet hiring needs and support new organizational and client group initiatives.
    • Leverage resume databases and job boards (Indeed, LinkedIn, etc.) and other recruitment channels to find top talent for in daily sourcing and proactively attract applicants using effective sourcing activities.
    • Evaluate applicants by discussing job requirements and applicant qualifications with hiring managers; interviewing applicants on a consistent set of qualifications.
    • Achieve staffing objectives by recruiting and evaluating job candidates; advising managers; interviewing/screening for hiring managers.
    • Create job advertisements; posting job ads through niche job boards, social media and professional associations and employee referral programs.
    • Evaluate applications, review resumes, and completes initial phone interviews to establish a narrow and diverse candidate pool of highly qualified candidates.
    • Provide recommendations to hiring managers on the top candidates for in-person interviews.
    • Ensure accurate data collection and maintenance in applicant tracking system, currently UKG.
    • Manage and coordinate multiple recruitment activities simultaneously.
    • Accurately track and report on recruiting activities.
    • Understand and communicate organizational values, benefits and perks to prospective candidates.
  • Provide counsel and coordinate with hiring managers, HRBPs and Talent Acquisition leadership to meet and exceed hiring objectives.
    • Collaboratively consult with Hiring Managers to outline recruitment processes and recommend strategies for identifying and recruiting potential candidates based on key experience and performance requirements.
    • Provide guidance to Hiring Managers on recruitment strategies, processes, procedures, and best practices.
    • Solicit feedback from Hiring Managers and other key stakeholders to identify needs and collect information that will help improve sourcing, recruitment and selection processes to attract and retain top talent.
    • Manage client expectations with timely and accurate communication.
    • Collaborate and thoughtfully strategize with key partners on projected needs and hiring objectives and actively monitor and suggest revised strategies for hard to fill positions.
    • Adapt to changing organizational priorities with a focus on accountability, communication, and customer service.
    • Consult with Human Resources Business Partners, Sr. Benefits & Compensation Manager and Talent Acquisition Manager to apprise Hiring Manager of approved salary recommendations.
    • Provide clear and consistent communications and work closely with HR team members to ensure best practices are followed, problem solve quickly, and make recommendations to streamline processes.
  • Ensure a positive candidate experience throughout the recruitment process for all positions.
    • Act as a liaison between candidates and hiring manager; providing communication to candidates regarding applicant status to include selection decisions.
    • Serve as a partner to the Onboarding Coordinator; providing pertinent communications to Hiring Manager and new hire related to onboarding.
  • Provide regular feedback to the Talent Acquisition & Onboarding Manager to demonstrate recruitment & onboarding program health and progress by way of recruiting statistics, trends, highlights and areas for improvement.
  • Serves as a partner, resource and back-up for other members of the Talent Acquisition team, including participating in, hosting and performing program work in collaboration with or at the request of the Talent Acquisition & Onboarding Manager, or their designee.
  • Provide onsite support at job fairs and other Talent Acquisition/Human Resources sponsored events as needed.
  • Other responsibilities and special projects, as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications for the role

  • Minimum 5 - 7 years of related sourcing and recruiting private sector Human Resources experience
  • Experience leverage resume databases and job boards
  • General knowledge of Human Resources practices, principles and ethics requirements either through education or other work-related experiences
  • Intermediate to advanced experience and knowledge of MS Office platforms including: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Google Suite, with openness to build on knowledge and skills in order to use the Museum's tools, resources and technology platforms
  • Experience using HRIS/applicant tracking systems and comfortable using and learning multiple technology systems
  • Excellent organizational and prioritization skills and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated flexibility and adaptability to manage multiple priorities and sometimes shifting priorities
  • Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment while multitasking
  • Clear and professional verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to operate effectively in a rapidly growing, fast-paced, dynamic work environment
  • Ability to establish a high degree of trust and credibility with client group hiring managers and hiring panel members, partners and key stakeholders
  • Understands the importance of maintains confidentiality and discretion at all times
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and complete projects within given deadlines.
  • Ability to travel as needed to support Talent Acquisition activities.

Preferred Qualifications for the role

Ultimate Kronos Group (UKG) and/or Ceridian HRIS system data management experience
