Position Summary

The Recruitment & Engagement Specialist is responsible for cultivating a network of strategic partners and alliances in the community while driving program performance in areas of participant recruitment, service delivery, resource connection and job skill training opportunities to support the expansion of Work Ready Oklahoma branded programming. While all of the programs are distinct in funding and participant requirements, many services are offered jointly to program participants.

The Recruitment & Engagement Specialist will work closely with the Recruitment & Intake Manager and service delivery teams to maximize opportunities for the populations served. This individual will work to see the process of moving a referral participant into the Work Ready Oklahoma programs. This individual will develop and maintain a system for tracking participant recruitment as well as partner engagement and follow-up, participate in orienting clients to services and demonstrate effective teamwork for the better good of the clients while maximizing Public Strategies missionhelping systems, organizations and individuals reach their full potential while maximizing the impact on the public good.

Essential Job Functions
  • Plan and coordinate recruitment strategies to maximize participation in Work Ready Oklahoma programs
  • Screen participants for their eligibility, match, and fit with various Work Ready Oklahoma programs
  • Assist with leading orientations and conducting individualized assessments to help clients identify their pathway for success while in Work Ready Oklahoma programs
  • Link participants to community resources and supports that will assist the participant with ongoing attendance and participation in program activities by assessing their needs through case management principles and making referrals to community resources
  • Input and maintain participant information as it relates to participant activities into database
  • Research, locate, and engage community partners to increase participant access to job skills training, volunteer and internship opportunities to increase employability.
  • Engage in outreach and recruitment activities to identify and interact with potential program participants
    • Participation in creative outreach activities including recruiting events; visits; partners, and community partner strategies; and other methods
    • Maintain community awareness about the program through site visits to community partners and participation in community events
    • Provide education to community partners about program benefits and the evaluation strategy
    • Strategize and generate new opportunities for partnership and referrals in the local community as guided by the Recruitment & Intake Manager
    • Other recruitment activities as guided by the Manager of Recruitment and Intake.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Education/Training

Bachelors degree and related experience in Communications, Marketing, Human Relations, Psychology, Social Work or related field, required

Experience
  • Community and/or family engagement within low income communities preferred;
  • Experience working in a mentoring or advising role, preferred
  • Must be very comfortable with public speaking and be able to communicate ideas, advice, feedback and critiques professionally and concisely in individual and group settings
  • Proven ability to independently manage and develop new client relationships;
  • Experience with ETO, SalesForce, Oracle, or similar client-based database management platforms preferred
  • Proven ability to independently manage and develop new client relationships
Special Requirements
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, evenings and some weekends
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office, including but not limited to Excel, Word, Powerpoint and Outlook with mastery level knowledge and experience, preferred
  • Must have a valid Drivers License
Essential Physical Requirements

Sufficient mobility and strength to move about the facility. Ability to be mobile throughout the community.
