Job Description

In the Connected Mobility Business Unit, we are at the forefront of advancing vehicle technology. From innovative solutions such as 5G to hidden antennas, we design and manufacture products that enable flawless data transfer within the next generation of autonomous and connected vehicles.

In this role you'll be an integral part of a team responsible for developing new automotive antenna products and supporting current products. You'll translate internal and/or external customer's validation expectations into plans that can be measured and executed through projects in the product validation life cycle.

What You Will Do

  • Execute DV and PV testing per scheduling.
  • Develop Validation Test Plans with milestone deliverables for internal and external customers.
  • Work with internal and external suppliers to facilitate validation testing needs.
  • Communicate validation testing activities status to internal and external customers regularly.
  • Develop and maintain databases for validation activities, including test tracking and results, validation SharePoint, and machine schedule.
  • Review test lab reports from internal and external test labs.
  • Prepare and submit validation test reports and present test results to customers.
  • Develop internal testing methods, apparatuses, and materials needed to achieve customer and product requirements, developing test fixtures, test setup, and test doors for EOL testers.
  • Identify failures, file observations, troubleshoot mechanical failures and lead root-cause analysis.
  • Analyze test results and the effect of material properties, geometry, and test conditions.
  • Analyze the various mechanical load conditions on the antenna components due to each test.
  • Write test processes/instructions for the various customer product's specifications.
  • Support Validation lab integration of technologies.
  • Adheres to quality and safety systems or maintenance of quality and safety standards.
  • Perform other related duties and assignments as required.

Who You Are

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
  • Ability to understand customer technical (mechanical) specifications for automotive antennas.
  • Ability to determine pass/fail criteria for the various product mechanical functions.
  • In-depth understanding of mechanical engineering concepts including the behavior of components under various static, impact, fatigue load, and thermal loads
  • Understanding of the antenna mechanical features and the impact of the test setup
  • Understanding the purpose of mechanical and environmental test (validation, design verification, continuous improvement, root-cause analysis, comparative analysis...etc.)
  • Mechanics of material knowledge and ability to explain material responses to the various loads and environmental conditions.
  • Ability to explain failure modes in terms of boundary conditions, geometry, and components interfaces.
  • Ability to understand engineering studies and analysis such as tolerance-stack, curvature, rotational, compression, etc.
  • Ability to Create CAD and drawings for the validation fixtures/jigs, perform the analysis and verification, and request prototypes.

  • Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
  • Exposure to environmental testing
  • Experience with mechanical design
