We are currently seeking a Technical Writer to join our team in Rockville, Maryland (US-MD), United States (US).

NETE an NTT Data Company is seeking a well-rounded, proactive, and detail-oriented Senior Technical Writer. This position will support the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, Office of Workspace Solutions with documenting standard operating procedures, developing a comprehensive set of design standards for all client deliverables, assisting the program management staff with maintaining the master program quality assurance plan, curating and managing routine contract reports including the program Monthly Status Report, Weekly Activities Reporting and project planning reports. The candidate should possess a strong knowledge of writing in the areas of SOPs, Design Standards, Technical Specifications and other critical document management best practices. It is preferable that the candidate have experience documenting processes within a Facilities and Space Planning context. The candidate will also be responsible for analyzing and recommending a document management strategy for all contract reporting and client deliverables. Document Management strategies may leverage MS TEAM, SharePoint, Microsoft One Drive or BOX. The candidate must live within the DC Metro area and be comfortable with commuting to the client site at a minimum of 3 working days per week.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with program management and subject matter experts to identify and catalog critical artifacts, project deliverables and data templates
  • Work with technical and function SMEs to create design standards documents for critical artifacts, project deliverables and templates
  • Create and Maintain a Quality Assurance and Document Standards Repository that is easily leveraged by contract and client staff
  • Work closely with Client Leadership to interpret Quality Standards and implement feedback into all artifacts
  • Curate weekly and monthly standard reports for customer deliverables as well as the Monthly Status Report for contractual obligation
  • Create and maintain a catalog of Design Specification documents
  • Recommend a comprehensive document management approach for all project related deliverables as well as contractual reports
  • Assist the Contract Delivery Manager and Program Manager with the creation and curation of the client monthly status meeting slide deck
  • Work with an identified UI/UX resource to collaborate on visualization standards and best practices for client deliverables

Qualifications

  • Business Analysis-Technical Writing - 5 years exp.
  • 5-10 years' experience with Government clients/projects preferred.
  • Bachelor Degree in Communications, English or a comparable Degree is preferred.
  • 5 years of experience/knowledge of Writing and Document Management Applications and Platforms (MS TEAMS, SharePoint, MS Word, MS Publisher, Adobe Creative Suite).
  • Applicants selected will be subject to a Public Trust background security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to sensitive information. US Citizens or Permanent Residents preferred.
