Job Summary

The Strategic Account Manager has responsibilities which include planning, coordinating, and leading how the Belden team delivers and executes against the Account Plans for target accounts. They work closely with the customer to co-create value that leads to positive business outcomes such as superior growth & profitability, innovative & scalable customer solutions, and superior customer loyalty.

You will make an impact in the following way:

  • Accountable for the development and growth of revenue for strategic accounts in theTransportation Vertical.
  • Establish the strategic long-term vision for the account relationships; carrying the vision throughout the Account and internally. This includes responsibility for the Strategic Account business planning process and strategy development.
  • Responsible for the development, implementation and execution of account action plans that deliver mutual value. Includes: Situation Appraisal, Bridge to Strategy, and Framework.
  • Develop and maintain critical relationships at the Strategic Accounts, including targeting new relationships and securing executive level sponsorship.
  • Act as a leader of change internally and within the customer; adapting and changing ways of working to capitalize on opportunities for mutual value.
  • Manage customer loyalty ensuring processes are in place to measure account satisfaction and loyalty. Proactively analyze and evaluate customer feedback to identify gaps and develop relevant action plans.


What you will bring:

  • Bachelor's degreewith a track record of 5+ years in a professional Sales role; Experience in the Transportation vertical is strongly preferred
  • Demonstrable ability to deliver sustained sales results, including experience working with large accounts, end user solution selling, growing existing customer accounts and developing new accounts
  • Experience in a variant of a Value Selling process
  • Demonstrable knowledge of a variety of sales fundamentals including funnel management, account planning, proposition development, and negotiation
  • Must have the technical, commercial, and operations affinity to operate credibly within the assigned accounts
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally as required to perform the duties of the role
  • Computer literacy essential - including experience using CRM system tools and MS Office

Applicants can expect a base compensation range of $100,000 - $150,000 plus benefits and additional incentives based on the level of the role. This is the reasonable estimate that Belden believes it might pay for this job based on applicable circumstances at the time of posting. Belden may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range as permitted by law, and commensurate with the applicant's experience, qualifications, and geographical location.
