As a member of the global Human Factors+Design team, the Senior UI/UX Designer will drive, shape and lead user interface and user experience efforts across several of Smith+Nephew's life changing device programs. By working closely with patients, healthcare professionals and internal stakeholders, you will shape the future of healthcare. What will you be doing?

  • Support the Human Factors+Design team in the creation and implementation of strategic UI/UX initiatives.

  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to maintain design intent across capital equipment systems, web-based portals, and mobile device-based applications.

  • Create UI specifications, i.e., screen designs, asset creation and management, animations, sounds, etc.

  • Contribute to the planning, execution, and documentation of formative and summative usability studies as they relate to the UI/UX.

  • Drive a consistent user experience across S+N systems.

What will you need to be successful?

  • Education:

    • Bachelor of Science in relevant area (Human-Computer Interaction, UI/UX, Graphic Design, Industrial Design)

    • MS or PhD in relevant area (Human-Computer Interaction, UI/UX, Graphic Design, Industrial Design)

  • Experience:

    • 4-6 years' experience in product development, preferably in the med-tech, healthcare industries.

  • Understanding of Usability and Human Factors, experience working on medical devices, capital equipment a plus.

  • Strong organizational, prioritization and communication skills.

  • Experience with design methodologies such as sketching, storyboarding, wire framing, prototyping, etc.

  • Experience creating software applications across multiple product types and platforms.

  • Microsoft Office Suite

  • Figma, Adobe Creative Suite

  • Travel Requirements: up to 25%
