JOB FUNCTION / SUMMARY:

Field Examiner 1's are responsible for completing field exams for current and prospective clients to determine the financial condition, establish collateral values and determines the risk in the collateral. Exams are less complex then those performed by Field Examiner 2 and assistance may be provided by manager and/or senior field examiner.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conducts field exams of prospective and existing commercial clients in accordance with standard field exam procedures.
  • Evaluates client's financial condition by studying internal reports, bank statements, and related financial documents.
  • Reviews accounts receivable records to determine aging of accounts and rate of payment to determine quality of accounts.
  • Reviews inventory data to determine quality of inventory.
  • Studies client's accounting procedures to ensure that they conform to accepted procedures.
  • Evaluates collateral and establishes collateral values in accordance with accepted procedures.
  • Verifies documents, invoices, and transactions regarding the sufficiency of the collateral based upon observation of physical inventory and random sampling.
  • Prepares detailed reports of field exams to detail the risk for lenders and management.

MINIMUM REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & KNOWLEDGE:

  • Bachelor's degree preferably in Accounting or Finance.
  • Experience in Asset Based Lending (ABL) and/or Banking preferred.
  • Experience conducting ABL Field Examinations preferred.
  • Ability to travel at least 50% of the time as needed.

ESSENTIAL MENTAL & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to travel if required to perform the essential job functions.
  • Ability to work under stress and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to operate related equipment to perform the essential job functions
  • Ability to read and interpret a document if required to perform the essential job functions.
  • Ability to lift/move/carry approximately 10 pounds if required to perform the essential job functions. If the employee is unable to lift/move/carry this weight and can be accommodated without causing the department/division an "undue hardship" then the employee must be accommodated; hence omitting lifting/moving/carrying as a physical requirement.
