Job Posting:

Kontoor Brands is currently seeking a Paralegal, Litigation and Compliance to support Kontoor's legal department - globally - to onboard new law firms, ensure invoices meet the requirements of our billing policy, resolve billing disputes, monitor legal spend, and solve complex problems related to maintaining the legal team's budget.

The ideal candidate has technical and operational experience, which they can rely on to help them make informed decisions related to our billing platform - Legal Tracker. Additionally, the Paralegal will collaborate with the Kontoor Legal team to assist with operational, litigation, compliance and other related matters.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the relationship with outside counsel and other legal-facing vendors and assist with related billing, invoicing, and payment processes.
  • Monitor legal spend and identify opportunities for savings and increased efficiency; Assist the Kontoor Legal team with developing and implementing the annual budget and forecast.
  • Manage the vendor payment process using our e-billing software, partnering with the finance and accounting teams to manage the accruals processes for the team's spend.
  • Optimize and enhance the use of technology to manage department spend in accordance with our Outside Counsel Billing Guidelines.
  • Identify opportunities and implement solutions to automate and standardize legal department processes; Assist in planning, developing, implementing, reviewing, and updating policies and procedures.
  • Take the lead with issuing litigation holds and responding to subpoenas and garnishment related issues.
  • Assist in the collection, processing, and review of discovery related documents for litigation purposes; Track case deadlines, report docket updates, and maintain a litigation calendar.
  • Maintaining and updating compliance related projects.
  • Assist with due diligence on third parties.

Requirements:

  • Undergraduate degree
  • Paralegal certificate preferred
  • 5 plus years' experience
  • Knowledge of corporate laws and contracts
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite, knowledge of Legal Tracker is preferred
  • Ability to work well autonomously and within a team in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment
  • Positive mindset and an affinity for problem solving.
  • Self-motivated with critical attention to detail, deadlines and reporting
  • Strong organization and interpersonal communication skills (including analysis, interpretation, reasoning, verbal communication, and written communication)
