Position Summary
Family Expectations, a healthy relationship and parenting education program, is designed for couples that are currently pregnant or who recently had a baby. The program is research informed, aligned with best practices, and is engaged in a rigorous evaluation lead by some of the most respected human services researchers in the country today. The Family Support Coach will contribute to Public Strategies mission of - helping systems, organizations and individuals reach their full potential while maximizing the public good - and by building and fostering strong foundational relationships with community service providers and others committed to making a significant, measurable, and sustainable difference.
The Family Support Coach (FSC) supports the working alliance between the Family Support (Case Management) and Education Services teams. The FSC monitors and facilitates workshop completion and provides individualized and group support to couples enrolled in the Family Expectations (FE) program through reminder phone calls, consistent assessment and follow up of couple's relationship challenges and immediate needs, building couples' capacity to deploy a range of skills to improve family life, and supporting couples in meaningful behavior change that has a positive impact on both their relationship and their children. The FSC will provide case management, reinforce key concepts from the curriculum, and connect couples with community resources in group and individual settings-with an emphasis on employment development and mental health services.
