Position Summary

We are seeking candidates who are passionate about exercise planning and operations. The selected candidate will work at the Camp Bullis Mission Training Complex (MTC) in San Antonio, Texas. They will be responsible for managing all aspects of unit exercise planning, scheduling, and coordination. The Senior Military Planner will work closely with the Intermediate Military Planner to coach and advise Exercise Planners with JELC, simulations, scenario development, and culminating training exercise execution.

This is an exciting opportunity for a successful applicant to utilize their military experience to help the training audience meet their training objectives, develop their internal processes and procedures, and help units maximize modeling and simulations as they train and prepare for follow-on missions.

What You'll Do

  • Provide unit exercise planning and scheduling support IAW JELC and CJCS Guide 3501.
  • Plans, designs, and coordinates training at all echelons, including individual through brigade, to include Corps and Joint
  • Conducts training unit coordination for collective training event planning, design (scenarios/MEL), meeting support, EXCON/HICON and response cell management, and training event AARs.
  • Responsible for ensuring training events comply with current Army doctrine, DATE/OE, and CTC best practices.
  • Supports TOC MCIS integration, data mining, and reach back of the Mission Support Operations Center, TSP and SOP development, virtual mission rehearsals, and unit use of LVC-G TADSS to best support collective training requirements.
  • Coordinates training event development across the Technical Integration and Training Support Sections.
  • Reports to and takes direction from the Site Lead.
  • Minimum travel required

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Four (4) years of military service with experience in Operations, Planning, or Exercises.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related discipline, or 8 Years equivalent combination of education, technical training, or work/military experience
  • Must be knowledge of applicable Army and DOD training, doctrine, and regulations.
  • Experience working with Microsoft SharePoint or similar web-based collaboration software tool(s).
  • U.S. citizenship
  • Active Secret security clearance

Desired Qualifications

  • Functional Area 57 (Simulation Operations Officer) qualified.
  • Experience working in a G-7 TREX.
  • Military service as a Liaison Officer with experience-like qualifications.
  • Familiarity with military (preferably US Army) training, operations, training aids, devices, simulators, and simulations (TADSS), mission training complexes, and mission command information systems (MCIS)
