Advertisement: The Career Development Office at St. Catherine University invites applications for a full-time Career Coach position.
The Career Development Office's goal is to realize the university mission to educate women to lead and influence through support of student career success! The Career Coach provides a variety of professional career services and programs for students, alumni, faculty and staff at the University. This position serves as liaison to academic departments to promote career integration and career readiness.
Responsibilities include:
Direct student and alumni support through 1:1 appointments on matters relating to major and career exploration, job search strategy, resume/cover letter review, interviewing prep, grad school planning and personal statements, and salary negotiation
Conduct individual student appointments for internship search strategy and internship credit request process
Delivery of services that reflect a recognition of the unique identities and circumstances of students seeking career development support - this can include appointment times at non-standard hours to meet student needs and accommodate students' preferred mode of interaction
Provide culturally aware Career Education through classroom presentations and other group settings to meet the needs of students and alumni in a wide range of majors
Represent the Career Development Center at campus wide initiatives and events
Train student workers to deliver initial career support to students in Career Development
Create and update major and career field specific contents on various digital platforms
Serve as the career development liaison to a variety of academic and/or student service departments to promote and support career integration and career readiness
Contribute to CPD departmental initiatives to partner with academic disciplines to meet student needs across an array of fields
Contribute to an inclusive environment that acknowledges the unique needs of students, including neurodiversity, marginalized and historically underserved students including students of color, first-generation, LGBTQ+, and international students.

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience in coaching, advising, counseling, student services, HR, and other related fields
Demonstrated knowledge, skills and commitment to social justice, equity and inclusion, including experience working with individuals with varying identities and backgrounds
Experience presenting information in a clear and concise manner and effectively engage the audience
Ability to establish rapport and professional relationships with a wide range of stakeholders to achieve a common goal
Demonstrated experience to concurrently manage numerous tasks, some with conflicting priorities
Experience with navigating multiple digital platforms
Experience working with MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel/spreadsheet, Google suite
Preferred Qualifications:
Two or more years of experience in career counseling or coaching in higher education or related settings
Experience working with students with diverse identities such as first-generation college students; students of various racial, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds; students from low-income families; students from rural communities; LGBTQ students; and adult learners.
Knowledge of career coaching and counseling techniques, career decision making, adult learning styles, and job search strategies.
Experience in event planning (both in-person and virtual)
Experience in interpreting assessments including Strong Interest Inventory and Myers Briggs Type Indicator
