Job Description

JOB SUMMARY

  • Create compelling In-Flight Entertainment and Connectivity product designs and experiences targeting a variety of users including passengers, cabin crew, maintenance engineers and airline content managers. Take complex and oftentimes very technical tasks and transform them into intuitive and easy-to-use designs for web, mobile and embedded environments.


MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES.Description

  • Visual Design: Provide visual mockups and graphical assets in support of the UX department mission.
  • Research: Conduct research using a variety of qualitative and quantitative methods, such as usability studies, contextual inquiries, interviews, and surveys.
  • UX Design: Collaborate with our Airline Partners as well as teams of Designers, Engineers and Product managers on designs across multiple products, platforms, applications and tools.
    • Integrate user feedback and business requirements into ongoing iterative product experience updates.
  • Design Documentation: Communicate ideas using a wide variety of methods from sketches, user flows, wireframes, to prototypes and polished design specifications.
  • UI Quality Assurance: Work side-by-side with the developers to ensure the implemented user interface conforms to the specified design and meets quality standards.


EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's Degree (preferably in User Experience Design, Human Factors Engineering, Human Computer Interaction). 2+ years of interaction/visual design experience.
  • Solid portfolio demonstrating great design sense and proven successes.


KNOWLEDGE/SKILL REQUIREMENTS

  • Mix of great visual aesthetic with an ability to understand how to make a complex product feel simple and intuitive.
  • Stays abreast of the latest industry trends, tools and practices
  • Ability to seek out reasonable and intuitive solutions to complex design challenges with an eye toward usability.
  • Ability to clearly articulate how a product should work both in software and in the physical world.
  • Strong presentation and communication skills (oral and written).
  • Experienced with professional UX design tools (e.g., Sketch, InVision, Axure, etc.)


OTHER REQUIREMENTS

  • Some travel (both domestic and internationally) may be required
