Position: Base Aviation Manager and Pilot in Command
Location: 100 Airport Rd., Dodge City, KS 67801
Responsibilities:
As the intermediary between base pilots and management, report to the Regional Aviation Manager (RAM), Chief Pilot, and Director of Operations (DO).
Attend bi-weekly meetings with the RAM and Chief Pilot for communication, issue resolution, and goal setting.
Supervise base pilots according to RAM's guidance.
Plan in flight operations, and assignments and gather necessary briefing data.
Create or oversee flight plans, considering factors like altitude, terrain, weather, range, weight, cruise control data, airport facilities, and navigational aids.
Ensure all required documentation is on board such as load manifest/dispatch, operations manual, and aeronautical charts, and conduct pre-flight checks, medical equipment loading, and equipment readiness.
Supervise aircraft inspections, patient loading, and medical equipment loading, and ensure compliance with weight and balance limits.
File FAA flight plan and ensure all required flight logs, records, and maintenance forms are properly completed and submitted.
Verify the securement of medical equipment, ensure proper patient boarding, confirm the presence of essential crew members, and check for emergency equipment such as life rafts and life vests.
Operate emergent medical aircraft at an optimal altitude., taking into account factors such as turbulence, oxygen needs, and patient loading comfort.
Will supervise 4-5 subordinating co-pilots.
Educ/experience:
Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Business Administration, Aviation Management, or related field plus two (2) years of post-baccalaureate experience as a Pilot in Command or related role. Requires a valid FAA-issued Airline Transport Pilot Certificate.
