POSITION SUMMARY

Work includes ensuring regulatory and quality standards compliance for environmental issues. Performs routine assignments under limited supervision, requiring knowledge of environmental and oil and gas operational principles, theories and concepts. Assists EHS leadership in addressing environmental compliance and risk mitigation and control. Provides support to the Business Units, Division EHS and Corporate Departments to assist in compliance with environmental regulations and Devon's EHS Protocols and Programs.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

* Establishes excellent relationship with operations staff and leads recurring meetings to facilitate operational staff learning and effectuate changes to environmental metrics.
* Establishes and maintains excellent relationship with governmental organizations, trade groups, landowners, and non-governmental organizations that impact Devon's operations.
* Leads development of, gathering of, and maintenance of environmental data for routine reports, metrics and regulatory documents
* Assists with environmental review of new well siting, including with NEPA, ESA, and CWA compliance.
* Reviews and supports investigation and conducts follow-up for environmental related incidents
* Oversees remediation efforts for environmental related incidents
* Teams with Business Units, Division EHS, and Corporate Departments in development and execution of EHS Protocols and programs
* Reviews and provides support for management of air permits, SPCC plans, Engine Emissions Testing, and assists with regulatory requirements of shipping and receiving hazardous materials
* Provides environmental support for employees traveling to field locations and to Devon's operating divisions
* Conducts environmental orientation for new employees
* Develops and gives presentations to varied audiences

PREREQUISITES

* Related professional regulatory, EHS, or Operational experience in the oil and gas industry required
* Familiarity with Federal air, water and waste permitting/compliance
* Familiarity with regulatory requirements, and ability to research them
* Demonstrated effective interpersonal skills and ability to effectively communicate both written and verbally
* High-level skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint)
* Potential for occasional weekend and after-hours work
* Available to travel on short notice, including overnight stays (approximately 25% travel)
* Bachelor's Degree in Environmental related field (preferred)
