Job Summary |
This position is based in the Jackson County Extension Office. The position will have a 40-hour work week schedule and periodically provide evening and/or weekend hours. The Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program - Education (SNAP-Ed) is seeking an Agent Assistant to serve clients in Jackson County. This role provides direct education to eligible youth and adults, aiming to change behaviors related to healthy eating and physical activity. Additionally, the position engages with agencies, organizations, and communities to implement improved policies, systems, and environmental strategies that enhance access to and appeal of healthy food and physical activity. Key responsibilities include evaluating and reporting all activities, adhering to SNAP-Ed guidelines and obesity prevention procedures, and complying with requirements set by Auburn University, the Alabama Cooperative Extension System, the Alabama Department of Human Resources, and NIFA/USDA. This role will report to the County Extension Coordinators, receive ongoing training from county and state staff, assist with routine office work, and perform other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications |
Level I- High school diploma or equivalent plus 4 years of experience in the organization and/or presentation of pre-designed educational programs/services, customer service, administrative support/clerical or related experience. Level II- High school diploma or equivalent plus 6 years of experience in the organization and/or presentation of pre-designed educational programs/services, customer service, administrative support/clerical or related experience. Substitutions allowed for Experience: Related higher education degrees accepted in lieu of experience, at a rate of one (1) year relevant education per year of required experience. |
