Symetra has an exciting opportunity to join our Retirement Sales Effectiveness team as an Assistant Vice President, Divisional Strategic Initiatives - Partner Experience!

About the role

In this role, you will act as the primary liaison between Sales & Distribution Leadership with emphasis on Division priorities, providing strategic guidance and final approval on Partner Experience initiatives. The role requires a profound understanding of partner needs, gleaned through robust feedback mechanisms and ongoing communication channels. You'll collaborate closely with Sales Operations and Strategic Solutions, spearheading initiatives aimed at enhancing partner engagement within the Retirement Division. This leader will streamline product launches and distribution processes, gathering partner requirements, and implementing best practices to boost sale & distribution efficiency. This leader will collaborate with SVP, VP and AVP stakeholders to identify and rectify gaps to foster a culture of continuous improvement as well as working closely with Product, Marketing, Distribution, Sales Operations and Strategic Solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary liaison between the EVP, SVP, and VP of the division; communicating division priorities, providing strategic guidance and signing off on partner experience initiatives for the division.This pivotal role requires a deep understanding of partner needs and challenges, gathered through feedback mechanisms and regular communication channels. Working closely with Sales Operations and Partner Experience Solution Members, this position will spearhead initiatives aimed at enhancing partner experience initiatives for RD.
  • Sign off on partner experience initiatives, ensuring alignment with divisional goals and priorities.
  • Collect best practices, such as SLAs, to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate with Sales & Distribution leaders to identify and address gaps in our sales, distribution, and marketing practices, fostering continuous improvement.
  • Travel as needed to support partner experience work.
  • Identify and implement innovative solutions to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of our sales and relationship management teams. This involves evaluating and optimizing the sales process, leveraging digital solutions to create efficiencies, and enhancing the overall sales experience. Additionally, this leader will focus on enhancing partner and intermediary experiences through process enhancements and technology upgrades.
  • Actively seek feedback from advisory council members to develop a comprehensive roadmap addressing Sales and Distribution needs.
  • Manage the iCapital Relationship, overseeing training, sales initiatives, and internal marketing efforts to ensure a unified and impactful approach across the division.
  • Provide leadership and challenge others to develop as leaders while serving as a technical role model and inspiring coworkers to attain goals and pursue excellence.

Compensation

$133,500 - $222,400/annually plus eligibility for annual bonus program

Who you are

  • High school diploma required
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant experience required
  • 10-15 years experience in management of Business Analysis, Systems Analysis, business strategy and process re-engineering
  • 12-15 years experience in the Financial Services or Insurance Industry
  • Ten to twelve years of experience in Industry Groups and leadership
  • Previous experience required in a management/lead position with responsibilities of work allocation, training, mentoring, and building a team with members of varied backgrounds and levels of experience
  • Proven experience with techniques such as use case analysis, data / process flow diagramming, etc.
  • Strong Initiative/program management skills with an ability to manage and deliver multiple initiatives or releases at the same time
  • Excellent analysis and critical thinking skills - root-cause analysis and ability to drive improvements based on data captured
  • Excellent documentation skills to build vision and scope, BRS's, UAT's, communication plans, training plans and presentations
  • Strong ability to build credible relationships both in immediate team and across multiple internal and external partner groups
