How You'll Perform the Role

This position is responsible for the overall day-to-day operation, leadership, and management of multiple manufacturing plants in a business unit. This position reports to the President of the Performance Solutions segment and regularly reports on business unit operations performance to executive leadership. Direct reports to this position include Plant Managers in the assigned business unit.

Essential Functions & Key Responsibilities:

  • Employee Safety and Safety Compliance
  • Product quality and customer satisfaction with order fulfillment (on time and in full OTIF)
  • Achievement of the monthly and annual operating plan for the business unit.
  • Continuous improvement of manufacturing processes and management methods to generate improved plant performance and workflow optimization and efficiencies.
  • Capital Projects planning and implementation (equipment and facilities)
  • Inventory and materials management.
  • Manage overall budget, spending, and headcount to annual operating plan(s) for the business unit.
  • Budgeting for multiple projects, including monitoring and controlling costs.
  • Manage the salaried and hourly staffs within their business unit, partnering with corporate Human Resources in the implementation of HR policies and management practices to drive a culture of communication and healthy accountability that makes each plant a desirable place to work.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to implement and refine company policies and procedures.

What We Need From You

  • A minimum of 7-10+ years of multi-plant leadership experience in manufacturing/operations (preferably in a high-speed, high-volume converting environment).
  • Must have demonstrated experience at the plant management level and have a strong track record of successful execution.
  • Well-rounded operations management experience including a deep understanding and experience with operations tactics, lean manufacturing, and continuous improvement, strategies and best practices and process discipline.
  • Excellent interpersonal and public speaking (presentation) skills.
  • Strong financial acumen required to properly analyze and communicate actual performance to plan variances and prescribe effective corrective actions that produce the desired results.
  • Proven strategic planning and budgeting experience.
  • Knowledge of production processes, raw materials, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.
  • Track record of excellent judgment and decision-making ability.
  • Ability to successfully work to reach company goals in an environment in which a wide degree of creativity and latitude is required.
  • Ability to effectively set and communicate expectations & directives to manufacturing leaders.
  • Results driven, analytical, self-motivated and detail oriented with the ability to logically identify alternative solutions or approaches to complex problems.
  • Demonstrated experience setting, monitoring, and meeting key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Demonstrated success as an innovative manufacturing leader.
  • Experience building and scaling teams and systems.
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Ability to travel up to 75% to assigned manufacturing plants, meetings, customers, etc.
