We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to join our Lab Team! As a Project Manager, you will be responsible for leading cross-functional project teams and delivering high-quality results in a collaborative environment.

What you'll do:

  • Develop and maintain detailed project plans for Laboratory Services projects, ensuring timely execution and resolution.

  • Collaborate with team members to receive updates and meet project deadlines.

  • Apply historical knowledge of work processes to better estimate timeframes and resources for new projects.

  • Communicate project status to stakeholders, and maintain an issue log to track and resolve problems.

  • Serve as a liaison between the laboratory and its customers to identify strategic focus areas and strengthen relationships, while facilitating team collaboration and measuring project impact.

What you'll need:

  • Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology (MT/CLS) or Business or Accounting or Information Management or a related field

  • A copy of the applicant's/employee's diploma and/or transcript as confirmation of the education requirement must be provided at time of hire

  • 3-4 years of experience in healthcare system implementation process

  • Lab experience a plus!

  • Ability to work on site in La Crosse, WI at least 50% of the time.

Job Description:

Works with the Laboratory Administrative Director, Department Chair, Section Chair, Clinical Managers, and Technical Leaders and multidisciplinary groups of team members to define the details of project tasks, order of the priority of the tasks, timeframes, and resource needs to project manage major Laboratory Services strategic initiatives. The Project Manager has a detailed understanding and skillful use of techniques to accomplish project objectives. The Project Manager uses project and management methods to assist teams in implementing changes identified within the focus of projects; measures change impacts; converts data into useable information, facilitates group and teamwork. The Project Manager promotes collaboration with internal and external customers.

Major Responsibilities:

1. Prepares detailed project plans for major Laboratory Services projects and maintains the project plan documentation throughout the project.

2. Works with the responsible members of each task to receive updates to timelines and issue resolutions for the purpose of meeting deadlines to projects.

3. Has the responsibility to escalate issues to the Administrative Director and then Department Chair as necessary to meet the deadlines of the projects.

4. Gains historical knowledge of work processes with each project to better estimate timeframes and approximations for new projects.

5. Communicates project status with the Laboratory Department, and with the key stakeholders affected by the project objectives.

6. Maintains an issue log for each project to ensure that issues are tracked and resolved prior to implementation dates.

7. Becomes well versed in project management skills in order to improve and optimize efficiency of the project management process.

8. Designs system templates for each project to ensure that consistent quality implementations are performed and customer satisfaction is enhanced.

9. Serves as a liaison between laboratory and "customers" of the laboratory to strengthen relations by obtaining input to optimally identify focus areas for laboratory services strategic plan.

10. Facilitates groups and teams to promote effective and efficient achievement of project aims. Optimizes learning, development and participation of all members (team building, listening, communication, conflict resolution, effective use of organizational resources, project management tools).

11. Measures the impact of project changes implemented.

12. Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Education and Learning:
REQUIRED
Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology (MT/CLS) or Business or Accounting or Information Management or a related field

Bachelor's degree in Business or Information Management

Work Experience:
REQUIRED
3-4 years of experience in healthcare system implementation process.

DESIRED
3-4 years of experience as a project manager or team leader of clinical systems in a healthcare organization.
