Qualifications

Minimum Requirements
  • Associates Degree in Electrical Engineering Technology (ASEET) or related field or equivalent experience.
  • At least five years of experience in a manufacturing environment, with two years' experience in testing, troubleshooting and repair of electronic products.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to read and understand simple to complex assembly procedures, drawings and schematics.
  • Ability to recognize acceptable and defective assemblies from procedures and drawings.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Good soldering skills. Surface Mount and Lead Free soldering experience.
  • Ability to work with computers and the necessary software typically used by the department.

Responsibilities

Summary

Responsible for failure analysis on returned product and reporting results. Function as a lab technician as needed which includes troubleshooting, repair, and building of company products and related sub-assemblies. Establish audits on products from the manufacturing line and perform functional and reliability testing. Interfaces regularly with Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality Assurance, and Technical Support to receive work assignments and provide product information.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities
  • Performs root cause Failure Analysis on returned products and publishes a report.
  • Assembling, installing, repairing, troubleshooting, and maintaining electronic components and systems.
  • Troubleshoots and repairs, to the component level, products and sub-assemblies that do not pass test processes. Provides second-level troubleshooting support and failure analysis when necessary.
  • Perform reliability testing utilizing temperature chambers, drop / tumble machine, leak testers, and other test equipment.
  • Establish audits on products from the manufacturing line and perform functional and reliability testing.
  • Maintain the Engineering and Reliability lab space.
  • Collects data and generates monthly and/or quarterly reports on all testing.
  • Inspects products and sub-assemblies for workmanship and compliance to documentation.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
