Overview

This is a hybrid role based in either Raleigh, NC or Charlotte, NC, with the expectation that time working will regularly take place inside and outside of a company office.

The Director Strategy position provides expert guidance and direction in shaping the Bank's overall long-term strategy. This critical role is responsible for leading a team in developing and implementing strategic initiatives, collaborating with senior leadership to identify opportunities, conducting market research and analysis, and providing strategic recommendations to support key decision-making processes. This role will oversee the alignment of corporate goals and departmental strategies and ensure effective communication of strategic objectives throughout the organization.

Candidates must live within a commutable distance of either the Raleigh or Charlotte office locations.


Responsibilities

  • Strategic Planning & Leadership - Collaborate with senior leadership to identify and prioritize strategic initiatives that drive sustainable growth and competitive advantage. Conduct thorough market analysis, competitive assessments, and trend evaluations to inform strategic decision-making and identify new business opportunities.
  • Team Leadership - Oversee the development of the team. Provide guidance and direction to the team in developing comprehensive strategic plans and initiatives aligned with the company's vision and objectives.
  • Cross functional Collaboration & Communication - Partner closely with cross-functional teams and departmental leaders to ensure alignment of strategic priorities and initiatives with organizational goals. Serve as a strategic advisor to senior leaders, providing insights, recommendations, and data-driven analyses to support key decision-making processes.
  • Performance Monitoring and Reporting - Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to track the progress and impact of strategic initiatives and alignment with organizational goals. Provide actionable insights and recommendations to senior leadership.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree and 10 years of experience in Business Strategy or Management Consulting


OR High School Diploma or GED and 14 years of experience in Business Strategy or Management Consulting

Preferred Areas of Experience:
* MBA or other advanced degree preferred
* Experience working with large financial institutions and/or diversified banking experience including commercial and consumer banking strongly preferred
* Proven presentation and oral communication skills
* Experience leading project and/or consulting teams
* Advanced Excel skills

* Advanced PowerPoint skills
