Under moderate supervision, reports to a designated supervisor of a section, team, or organization. Responsible for specific assignments involving conventional types of plans, investigations, surveys, structures and equipment, and operating problems with some sophisticated features. Employing established techniques and usually following precedents, performs such assignments as equipment design and development, materials tests, preparation of specifications, applications studies, analyses of system or process troubles, research investigations, system planning studies and preparation of technical reports. With instructions from the supervisor, is responsible for projects with specific assignment objectives, points of emphasis and sources of information, with subsequent supervisory reviews of engineering judgment used.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Performs moderately complex engineering work on projects in a particular field of engineering such as civil, chemical, electrical, environmental and mechanical.
  • Performs technical investigations, engineering economic studies, operating studies, design, tests, long range plans, forecasts, cost estimates, computations, inspections, inventories and reports as may be required for the completion of assignments.
  • Oversees moderately sophisticated projects through successful completion using efficient measures.
  • Coordinates the work of engineering and clerical personnel assigned who assist in specific projects.
  • Counsels with customers regarding Company technical and commercial policies and the application of designs and equipment of moderate complexity, as assigned.
  • Assists higher classified engineers as assigned.
  • Keeps advised on the latest developments and techniques pertaining to engineering and operating functions in the assigned field.
  • Consults with the supervisor or higher classified engineers on the more difficult problems arising in the work and advising of unusual situations.
  • Prepares daily and other periodic reports.
  • Performs inspections and testing.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor degree in Engineering

  • 3-5 years of recent verifiable experience

  • Experience in Electric Generation or Utility a plus

  • Strong computer skills to include Microsoft Suite

  • Strong communications skills

  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively and cooperatively with others as well as operate with a minimum of supervision
